Deep Rock Galacticis full of interesting enemy types, and certain foes that players can face only appear once in a while. One particularly rare enemy type is the Crassus Detonator, and a group ofDeep Rock Galacticfanshad an entertaining run-in with one of these aliens.

The Crassus Detonator isa variant of the Bulk Detonatorthat manyDeep Rock Galacticplayers have likely encountered before. It is nearly identical to this enemy type, as the explosion it causes when destroyed will kill any dwarves caught in the blast instantly. However, there are a few things that help set it apart. For starters, it has a 3% spawn rate, making it unlikely for players to find one in most of their games. This rarity makes a recent video particularly special.

While encounters with Crassus Detonators in the Ghost Ship Games andCoffee Stain Studiostitle do not happen often, finding them in the way that Redditor Terrorquiz did is even more unlikely. During the Drop Pod descent that happens at the start of everyDeep Rock Galacticmission, the Redditor and their group were shocked to find a Crassus Detonator in their path. However, the Drop Pod did all the work for them, instantly killing the massive creature before it had a chance to attack.

Fortunately for the Redditor and their group, the explosion causes by the enemy was not fatal. While it normally would have been, the fact that it happened while the players were still safe inside the Drop Pod prevented them from taking any damage. Had the Drop Pod not landed on the creature, it could have exploded as soon as the miners left their Drop Pod, instantly killing them. The fact that they managed to land on a Crassus Detonator requires an absurd amount of luck, and the result is one ofmany entertainingDeep Rock Galacticclipsposted in recent weeks.

As mentioned earlier, the Crassus Detonator differs from Bulk Detonators in a few ways. Alongside the low spawn rate, the creature is entirely covered in gold. When it explodes, it will cover the surrounding area in a sheet of gold, giving players a massive reward when killing it. While gold may not be useful tohigh levelDeep Rock Galacticplayers, it is great for those that still need to unlock some of the game’s cosmetics, as mining it results in more credits gained.

Hearing the players react to their rocky landing, the explosion, and the pile of gold below them is plenty of fun. While many may be focused onDeep Rock Galactic’s next Seasonand discussing its additional secondary weapons, it is worth taking a second to watch this hilarious video.
