AGenshin Impactfan has an important detail players planning to pull for Dehya should remember before spending their Primogems on her banner. With the newest patch for HoYoverse’s popular RPG less than 24 hours away, players have already gotten to see plenty of what’s in store for the next update. Version 3.5 will feature a pair of new quests, including thenext chapter of the Traveler’s Archon Quest, as well as the return of Mondstadt’s Windblume Festival. One of the highlights of the patch is the game’s newest five-star character, Dehya.

Dehya has been rumored for several updates with the character appearing prominently in the story forGenshin Impact’s Sumeru region. HoYoverse would officially reveal the upcoming release of Dehya following the launch of Version 3.4, coming to the game in Version 3.5 alongside a new Mondstadt character in Mika. Recent trailers have teased fans with elements of Dehya’s backstory and gameplay, getting plenty of fans excited to pull for the Eremite mercenary. However, one fan is reminding players about her lack of synergy with certain popular support characters.

Reddit user Rasbold reminded players of an important interaction between Dehya’s Elemental Burst and the abilities of several other characters. Dehya’s Elemental Burst is not considered a Normal or Charged Attack despite its appearance, meaning several synergies with other Normal Attack-augmenting characters will not work. Abilities that add effects to Normal Attacks like Xingqiu’s andYelan’s Elemental Burstswill not proc on Dehya’s Elemental Burst. The ability also does not proc any bonuses applied to Normal Attacks, like those found on the Gladiator’s Finale artifacts.

The lack of synergy with some ofGenshin Impact’s most popular support characters comes as fans have been critical of Dehya’s expected power level. Many have felt that Dehya’s gameplay feels underwhelming from the leaks shown of her kit, suggesting she may be a weak character on release. Some have suggested her power level may have intentionally been lowered due to HoYoverse’s intent toadd Dehya to the standard bannerfollowing Version 3.5’s conclusion. Dehya will become the second new five-star character added to the standard rotation since Sumeru’s release, joining Version 3.0 five-star Tighnari.

While Dehya has seen her fair share of criticism, her addition follows significant success throughoutGenshin Impact’s recent releases. Characters like Nahida in Version 3.2 and Wanderer in Version 3.3 have been among the most popular releases since the HoYoverse RPG’s launch in September 2020. Version 3.4’sYelan and Hu Tao rerun bannereven broke the game’s overall sales record, featuring two of the game’s most popular characters. While Dehya may not see the same level of success, fans of the Eremite mercenary will be looking to pick her up when she debuts.

Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
