Genshin Impacthas a colorful cast of characters that players can use in their parties, and leveling them up in various ways is extremely important to be able to take on tough challenges. Be it making sure they are equipped with the best artifacts,ascending them to become more powerful, or leveling up their talents, players have plenty of options regarding how they wish to make their party members stronger.
To level up talents, players will need to farm talent ascension materials which can only be obtained from specific sources. For characters fromGenshin Impact’sMondstadt region who need the Guide to Ballad, that means farming the Forsaken Rift Domain of Mastery that can be found between Springvale and Dragonspine. The Domain drops a variety of Teachings, Guides, and Philosophies that players will need. Guide to Ballad is needed to level up talents for Albedo, Fischl, Kaeya, Lisa, the Traveler, and Venti.

To access the Forsaken Rift Domain, players will need to beat least Adventure Rank 27and should bring Electro and Pyro characters to deal with the many Cryo enemies they will need to face inside. The Forsaken Rift Domain has rotating challenges with set rewards that will drop the following talent ascension materials on specific days.
Teachings will drop from difficulty level 1-4, Guides from level 2-4, and Philosophies will drop from level 4 only. To guarantee a reward of Guide to Ballad, players will need to run the Realm of Slumber at the Forsaken Rift at Level 2 or higher on Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday. Players will alsoneed 20 Original Resinto claim their reward when they successfully complete the challenge.
It is also possible to upgrade three of the lesser materials into the next tier at any Alchemy Bench, at a rate of 3:1. Three Teachings can be turned into one Guide, and three Guides can be turned into one Philosophy. This is helpful, as players will earn rewards from multiple tiers simultaneously on higher difficulty runs, and the materials can still be used, even if their characters have out-leveled them. It will be important for players to plan their Domain runs based on their needs, as Original Resin is a finite resource. Having a strong understanding ofGenshin Impact’scharacter tiersis important, so resources are not wasted on materials for characters players are not interested in leveling up.
