An interestingGenshin Impactvideo compares the character showcase videos for update 1.1 and the upcoming version 3.3. The game has a very tight update schedule which allows HoYoverse to add new content every 6-7 weeks. The ongoing update 3.2 has introduced the long-awaited Dendro Archon Nahida and the Cryo four-star character Layla.
Before every new roster addition,Genshin Impactusually releases one or more teaser videos that give more details about the upcoming characters. At the start of the recently held live stream event, HoYoverse shared a short trailer announcing two new Anemo characters.

Reddit user JSDkilla has shared a video on the officialGenshin Impactsubreddit that shows the difference between the current character trailers and official videos that were released before update 1.1. The post confirms that the production value improved dramatically since the game was officially released back in September 2020. Since then, the game has reached global success, and it’s currently one of the most profitable games in the industry, mostly thanks to its gacha system and great approach to character and world design. The Dendro ArchonNahida recently brokeGenshin Impact’s overall revenue record, even though her banner was a couple of days shorter than usual.
The video shows that the 1.1 video presented four characters that were brand-new at the time. Those include the 11th Harbinger Tartaglia, the Geo Archon Zhongli, and two four-star units, Diona and Xinyan.Childe is currently available on the ongoing bannerthat also features the five-star Elector user Yae Miko. Some fans have praised the fact that despite being some of the earliest five-star characters, both Childe and Zhongli are still considered S-tier picks.
While some older characters like Diluc and Jean are not considered meta anymore, most five-stars have remained relevant to this date. A couple of comments have stated that the main reason why the production value improved so much, apart from the increased revenue, is probably the fact that those trailers have recently been often used as ads. The two new characters are both expected to arrive in the first banner cycle forGenshin Impactupdate 3.3.
The new five-star Wanderer is probably one of the most anticipated characters inGenshin Impactdue to his multiple appearances in the official storyline. The new Anemo user, previously known as Scaramouche, used to be a part of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. Recent rumors have been hinting thatplayers will have the option to rename Wanderer.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
