The story ofGoosebumps: Dead of Nightis described to revolve around the villain Slappy the Dummy, Slappy the Dummy being a literal living ventriloquist dummy first written in 1993’sGoosebumpsnovelNight of the Living Dummy. The character was so popular that R.L. Stine brought it back for 8 additionalGoosebumpsbooks in the years since. Though R.L. Stine has since written another 10SlappyLandbooks with several more to come. He’s becomeGoosebumps' most famous villain, so it’s no surprise he’s back in the game.
