Percival is a flexible damage dealer inGranblue Fantasy: Relinkwho trades speed for power. While he is not the most agile fighter in the roster, he makes up for it with his powerful attacks that can devastate groups of enemies and large, single targets alike.

Due to his relatively simple playstyle, Percival is a beginner-friendly choice for those who are looking toget a new crewmate inGranblue Fantasy: Relink. This guide covers the basics of using Percival, with the intent of helping players familiarize themselves with the character to pave the way for future experimentation and mastery.

The Quick Cooldown Sigil in Granblue Fantasy Relink

Percival Combos and Playstyles

Percival relies heavily onSchlacht, his signaturecharged attack, to deal high amounts of Stun and burst damage. He doesn’t exactly perform combos like otherGBF Relink characters such as Narmayaor the Captain, but he does make extensive use of his Skills so he can unleash fully-charged Schlacht as often as possible.

Weaving Schlacht in between Skills and Link Attacks is the backbone of Percival’s playstyle. He should only be using his basic attack string whenever his abilities are cooling down. As such, you’ll want to build him with as much cooldown reduction as you may fit in his gear slots so he can dish out the most punishment.

Best Sigils for Percival

Given his specific playstyle, Percival greatly benefits from Sigils that affect his Skills and Schlacht, not just his base stats. When leveling up, you canuse any Sigilthat can benefit his overall power. However, once you start getting Tier V Sigils and beyond, you’ll want to use more specific options to optimize Percival’s playstyle. Here are some Sigils that we highly recommend using on him:

Effect

Quick Charge

Increases Attack and decreases Charge time (ATK +14%, Charge Time -21% at Trait Lvl 15).

Decreases Skill cooldowns (-10% at Trait Lvl 15).

Cascade

Shortens Skill cooldowns whenever you hit an enemy. Effect strength changes based on attack type (-1.5% cooldown per hit at Trait Lvl 15).

Lucky Charge

Increases the critical hit rate of Charged Attacks (+54% at Trait Lvl 15).

Best Skills To Use

There are a couple of ways to build Percival, though his playstyle generally remains the same between them. The majority of his abilities are designed to deal damage, but there are a few options that lean more toward providing team-wide utility, including one that features a debuff that only Percival can inflict.

Macht

Lunge forward, gain Stout Heart, and inflict high Stun damage to a target.

Self-buff; grants Supplementary DMG and ATK based on Percival’s HP

Roter Wirbel

Creates flame coils that constantly damage enemies touching them.

When used, Percival’s offensive skills cause his next use of Schlacht to charge significantly faster. The same also happens after he lands a Link Attack or the final hit of his basic attack combo.

Best Percival Teams

Percival can fit in any team that needs a damage dealer. However, he works best with characters who can open windows for him to deal big damage. Team composition also affects Percival’s ideal skill loadout — if the team has a dedicated stunner, for example, then consider swapping Macht and Zerreisen. Meanwhile, X-Seele can be swapped out for Flammenmarsch or Traumerei if the team includesGranblue Fantasy: Relink’sCC-oriented heroes like Katalinaand Lancelot. Here’s what a stun-heavy team with Percival looks like:

Siegfried is an excellent DPS hero who can also play a supporting role. He can shred enemy defenses and provide both Debuff Immunity and Drain (AKA Lifesteal) to party members. Meanwhile, Vane can repeatedly stun targets to build everyone’s Link Gauge and give Percival more opportunities to skip Schlacht’s charge time. Cagliostro is an all-around good Support who focuses on the team’s ATK and critical hit rate via Phantasmagoria, and she’s a decent healer to boot.

It’s worth noting that the four dragon knights (Siegfried, Percival, Vane, and Percival) synergize well with one another. They all deal excellent damage and can sustain themselves with Siegfried’s help. Vane and Lancelot can take care of crowd control while Percival unleashes heavy bursts of damage while enemies are stunned, slowed, or frozen.
