InRogue Mage, the player journeys across a map of the Continent, choosing their route one incident at a time until finally reaching the boss. These incidents can be battles, events, the discovery of treasure, or a chance to interact with one of several mysterious Places of Power. Unlike battles and treasure, the function of Places of Power isn’t so obvious. Here’s everything the player needs to know about what each Place of Power does.
Reaching Places Of Power
The map of the Continent is crisscrossed with routes leading from the player’s starting position to the boss, allowing the player to choose from several available paths. Because the player can look at the entire map between events, the player can plot their entire course from the beginning, choosing which Places of Power they want to reach,an important beginner tip.

There are four types of Places of Power: Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue, distinguishable by the color of the monument’s symbol, though doing so can be difficult at a glance, due totheir tendency to blend into the map. Each has a different power, so players who understand the significance of each Place of Power can plot the ideal course between fights, events, and treasures.
Places Of Power Explained
The primary function of Places of Power is to provide the player with more Energy. Thoughit can be used in other interesting ways,Energy is primarily a resource used for spellcasting, allowing the player to use one of the three spell cards they selected prior to the run. A spell can be cast every turn, and in tough boss fights the player will need to do just that, so Places of Power serve as vital refueling stations for the player’s magic.
Regardless of its color, every Place of Power grants the player the option to receive 20 Energy, allowing them to replenish their magic.Payers that don’t want Energy can receive an alternative reward from the Places of Power, determined by their color.Fans who know about Alzurknow he’s already a powerful mage, and this only makes him more so.

The Red Place of Power allows the player to remove a card from their deck, streamlining their build. The Yellow Place of Power allows the player to transform a card, ridding the player of an undesirable card and replacing it with one that might be more useful. The Green Place of Power Allows the player to upgrade a unit by 3, effectively increasing both its health and the player’s victory points. A Blue Place of Power will allow the player to duplicate a card in their deck, doubling down on the most powerful weapons in their arsenal. Knowing these effects will let the player blaze their way throughthis brief entry inThe Witcherseries.
