When using an Xbox controller, hold the LB button to open the wheel, use the right stick to select the plant, and then press LB again while fighting to deploy the Venomous Tentacula where players choose.
Locating and using Venomous Tentacula is also a pre-requisite to getting theWingardium Leviosaspell along with Mandrake as part ofProfessor Garlick’s Assignment 1side quest. To complete it, players can either buy and use the plants on enemies outright or grow them in theRoom of Requirementbefore searching the World Map for any enemies to throw the plants at.
Players can even come across a giant Venomous Tentacula in theVenomous Valourside quest, and the namesake plant also features in theVenomous Revengeside quest.
