Team Composition
Best Light Cone
Harmony characters inHonkai: Star Railare those who can give their team significant buffs, the opposite of Nihility who debuffs the enemies. Naturally, according to their star level, five-star Harmony units are generally better than their four-star counterparts. However, when comparing two five-star Harmony characters, it can be tough to assess who’s the better unit.
Therefore, you may be wondering if youshould pull for Robin if you have Sparkle or Ruan MeiinHonkai: Star Rail. Both characters arepowerful Harmony units, but Robin looks so good that she can potentially outperform Sparkle, despite Sparkle being considered really powerful on her release. While in the end, the decision of pulling for Robin lies entirely in the players’ hands, the following information may help in easing the decision by providing a comparison and things to expect when usingRobin VS Sparkle VS Ruan Mei inHonkai: Star Rail.

There’s no short answer to this, but players can benefit from having both Robin and Sparkle/Ruan Mei if they only have one of Sparkle/Ruan Mei/Bronya. Otherwise, they should only get Robin if they really like her or if theyhave the Stellar Jade fund. Before spending all resources on the Warp banner though, here are some things that Trailblazers may want to consider.
45% + 24% of her Crit DMG (Ultimate)

-
200 + 22.8% of her max ATK (Ultimate)

15%, plus up to +30% for Quantum allies (Trace)
Gives an instant turn to all allies (Ultimate)

Advance Forward the target’s action by 50% (Skill)
Delay the enemy’s action by 20% of Ruan Mei’s Break Effect + 10% after attacking them when they’re on Weakness Break (Thanatoplum Rebloom effect)

Additional Damage Dealt
In the Concerto state, every attack by allies causes Robin to deal Physical DMG by 120% of her ATK. This hit has a 100% Crit Rate and 150% Crit DMG
Break DMG by 120% of her Ice Break DMG when allies Break enemy’s Weakness, and Break DMG by 50% of Ruan Mei’s Ice Break DMG When Thanatoplum Rebloom triggers

25% Crit DMG for follow-up attacks (Trace)
+4 Skill Points (Ultimate)
20% Break Effect (Trace), 25% RES PEN (Ultimate), 10% SPD (Talent)
The core difference is that Robin and Ruan Mei give buff for the entire team, while Sparkle’s Skill only boosts one target unit. Even though Sparkle gives extra Skill Points, she also continuously uses them, whereas Robin and Ruan Mei don’t consume as many Skill Points. This basically put Sparkle’s SP-recovery effect at a lower significance.

Additionally, Robin increases a lot of ATK, which may not benefitnon-ATK units likeHonkai: Star RailBlade. Consequently, Sparkle gives Crit DMG and a universal DMG bonus, which is more flexible than plain ATK or Break Effect stat.
Robin has a high Energy demand, sitting at 160 Energy. It’s hard to get her Ultimate back unless players properly invest in Energy-restoration stats and characters. Other than Energy Restoration Rate stats from Relics, players must have Robin’s signature Light Cone,Flowing Nightglow, or at leastBut the Battle Isn’t Over. Characters likeHuohuo who restores Energyare also excellent.

If players have both Flowing Nightglow/But the Battle Isn’t Over and a well-built Huohuo, it’shighly recommendedto get Robin as she’ll work smoothly. Those who only have one of the two can still enjoy Robin in a nice pattern as well, but Trailblazers who fail to invest in both will find Robin quite difficult to play with.
Robin with the required Light Cone and/or character is an SP-positive unit, which means it doesn’t burden the team’s Skill Point consumption, whereasa low-invested Robin will eat a lot of the team’s SP, making her less effective than she should be.

Is Robin Worth It?
With proper investment, Robin is highly worth having inHonkai: Star Rail. Players should get Robin if they:
