Summary
Life is Strangeis a series with a cult following, and fans have been waiting with bated breath for a new entry in the series sinceLife is Strange: True Colorsin 2021. The series is back with a new entry and this time, Max Caulfield makes a return.
Throughout theLife is Strangeseries, the different protagonists have had varying powers, and this time around things are no different. Compared to other characters, it appears Max’s powers are more “out of this world” and can cause greater havoc.

Alex’s Empath Powers in Life is Strange: True Colors
InLife is Strange: True Colors, players are introduced toAlex Chen who is an empath. Furthermore, she has the power to acutely sense the emotions of those around her, which are usually represented with colored auras. It’s not all fun and games, as she is “infected” by the emotions as well and has to experience them whether they are good or bad.
It’s a good power, as it allows Alex to relate to others whether she likes them or not. Compared to Max’s new timeline-jumping power, it is a lot more subdued and grounded in reality - as much as superpowers can.
Daniel’s Telekinetic Powers in Life is Strange 2
InLife is Strange 2, Danielhas the traumatic experience of witnessing the death of his father. Following this, he gains telekinetic abilities and can manipulate objects with his mind. This power grows in strength as the game progresses, though the distance and weight of an object can increase how difficult it is to manipulate an object.
Both Max’s timeline-jumping power andDaniel’s telekinesis are very supernatural. The key difference is that Daniel’s powers take place in one reality, while Max’s powers have her traveling between timelines.
Max’s Time-Manipulating Powers in Life is Strange
Max’s powers inLife is Strangeare perhaps the most complex in the series. She can rewind time and make different choices. This seems good at first, but it eventually becomes apparent that it causes a butterfly effect with unintended consequences. She also can freeze time while being able to move freely. She uses this ability totry to save Kate Marsh during a suicide attempt. Although this is a useful power, it requires a lot of concentration from her.
Max’s timeline-jumping power seems like it’ll be another complicated power that is difficult to make complete sense of, but this won’t be anything new for fans ofLife is Strange’s Max Caulfield. Once again, it appears Max will be using her ability to save the life of a friend.
What to Expect From Max’s New Superpower in Life is Strange: Double Exposure
It appears that Max has a new power in Double Exposure. This time around, she can switch between two dimensions. In one dimension, she finds her friend Tzafi’s body in the woods, and it’s up to her to prevent the same murder from happening in a parallel timeline. To do this, she has to solve the mystery of her friend’s murder.
Max’s return is a pleasant surprise for the series, which is back with yet another murder mystery plot.Life is Strange: Double Exposurelaunches on Xbox Series X/S consoles, PlayStation 5, and PC on June 13, 2025, and is also coming to Nintendo Switch.
