The tricky thing about Eevee evolutions inPokemon GOis that there are little to no beginner-friendly instructions for getting them. For instance, Sylveon, despite being one of the most popular Pokemon in the game, is often mistaken by beginners as a rare catch when it’s actually just an evolved Eevee. This can be confusing.
Fortunately,Pokemon GOrarely alters the mechanics for Eeveelutions, making the already complex process a bit more manageable. Once you grasp the details of evolving Eevees, you won’t need further guidance to complete your Pokedex. The following guide will explain how to obtain each Eeveelution and reveal a secret method that can instantly grant you all these rare creatures: The Name Trick.

The instructions for getting each Eeveelution are clearer now, and there are additional beginner-friendly details to help newbie Trainers obtain their desired evolved Eevee.
Eevee Evolution Explained
Also known as Eeveelution,an Eevee evolution is the process of changing an Eevee into one of its eight alternative forms:Sylveon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon. InPokemon GO, each evolved Eevee requires a specific evolution method, often involving Buddy Adventures.
All Eevee Evolution Names
Pokemon GOtrainerscan get all eight evolved Eevees withthe name trick. For that, they’ll need to rename an Eevee to Kira to get Sylveon, Rea to get Glaceon, Linnea to get Leafeon, Tamao to get Umbreon, Sakura to get Espeon, Pyro to get Flareon, Sparky to get Jolteon, and Rainer to get Vaporeon. It’s then a simple case of evolving it.
Glaceon
Rea
Renaming a Pokemon is straightforward. To do so, players should select an Eevee, tap the pen icon, type in the new title, and then confirm.
The nickname trick is a one-time-only method that works once per Eeveelution. In other words, it grants players only one of each evolved Eevee.

How to Evolve Eevee
To evolve an Eevee, you need to eithercomplete specific Buddy Adventures, use certain Lure Modules, or spend Candies. You can also use the name trick method, which is a one-time-use technique to get a desired Eeveelution.
Out of the eight Eeveelutions, five are guaranteed outcomes if you evolve an Eevee in a specific way: Sylveon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon, and Glaceon. The remaining three—Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon—are RNG-based and cannot be obtained through a surefire method.
