Every player could always use extra help to get through the tough battles inBaldur’s Gate 3, especially regarding the bosses in the final act.Gaining Inspiration is one wayto give your character a second chance if an Ability roll goes badly, and there are several of them you can get depending on the Background you’ve chosen.
Backgrounds inBaldur’s Gate 3include examples like Criminal, which gives points for shady dealings like organized crime, or Sage, a common choice for studious classes like Clerics and Wizards. Outlander is a Background usually shared by Rangers, Druids, and other classes that appreciate the Great Outdoors, but anyonecan choose this Backgroundin the character creation process.

Only a character with theOutlander Backgroundcan get this Inspiration, but if Tav doesn’t have it, two Companions do. Karlach and Halsin are both Outlanders and as long as they’re at the party, you’ll get an Inspiration point from each of them.
Find Sword Coast Couriers
Across From The Temple In Downtown Rivington
It’s optional to visit this unassuming building in Rivington, and many players finish the game without ever discovering it. Starting from the town’s Waypoint, take a left and walk past the Circus. Sword Coast Couriers has a sign with a letter and a pigeon hanging outside, directly across from the Temple of the Open Hand.
Meet Luietenant Lightfeather
The Leader Of The Squadron
There are also animals in the service of Sword Coast Couriers. The dogs can be found outside, and the pigeons are upstairs. It’s not essential to speak to them to finish the “Find The Missing Letters” quest, but it can provide a clue.
The courier pigeons have arranged themselves into an organized group reminiscent of a World War 2 bomber squadron. You’ll recognize the Lieutenant by his dapper British accent.

The protagonist can only have a maximum of four Inspiration points. If you already have four when you visit the courier, getting the Avian Inspiration will count as experience points instead.
