Pokemon SwordandPokemon Shield, the latest pair of titles in Game Freak’s legendary series, have been out for a few months now. Despite a bumpy road to launch, the games released to a warm critical reception. One of the strengths ofSwordandShieldthat critics praised is the host of new features that has been introduced to the veteran series.

One of the most game-changing of these features is cooking Curry. Curries are dishes that can be cooked and eaten by a player’s current team whilein a Camp. They give a variety of bonuses, which are all improved by the quality of the Curry itself. Making a top-quality Curry can be a difficult thing, especially as the game drops few hints on how to do so. Selecting Ingredients

There are two core ingredients to thenew Curry featureinPokemon SwordandShield. The first is the Key Ingredient, which simply dictates which kind of Curry will be made. The second ingredient is Berries, up to 10 of which can be added to a Curry.

Each Berry has a different range of flavors, as seen in the graph below. Focusing on one of these flavors is the way to produce a high-quality product. Also, therarer the Berryis, the stronger its flavor and the more chance of producing a good Curry.

Master Chef

To cook the best Curry, players will need to complete the three cooking stages perfectly. While fanning the flames, make sure that the flames are the perfect size, indicated by sparkles andexcited Pokemon. Don’t stir too quickly, as this will spill the Curry and lower its quality. When the time comes to add heart, make sure the love is on the inner green ring, which will complete the final step.

Depending on the rarity and flavor of the Berries used, as well as the competency of the cooking, the Curry can come in five different rarities. These rarity levels are listed below, in descending order of quality.
