Netflix used to be the home of Marvel shows, but they were all unceremoniously canceled when Disney Plus loomed on the horizon. It was a sad day for many fans as they had fallen in love with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, The Punisher, andLuke Cage. The stories were very mature, and the shows tackled dark themes that the majority of the Disney Plus shows have not explored yet. They were very impressive and beloved, and fans have been calling forMarvel Studios to continue the talesever since.

While Charlie Cox has officially returned as Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio is playing the villainous Kingpin again, the otherDefendersshows have not had the same luck. There are rumors thatKrysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones or Jon Bernthal’s Punishermay return, but there does not seem to be anything hinting at the return of Luke Cage. His Netflix series left him in a very dark place, and fans deserve to see how that plays out. If Marvel Studios does not follow up on that cliffhanger, then a video game should.

Netflix’s Luke Cage Ended on a Major Cliffhanger

Marvel’s Luke Cagefollowed the titular hero as he fought to protect Harlem from the crime bosses that had overtaken it. He utilized his super strength and unbreakable skin to protect the streets and go to war againstthe villainous Cottonmouth and Mariah Dillard. It was a classic street level superhero story backed up by some impressive acting, and both seasons were a lot of fun.

The end of the second season saw Mariah Dillard perish at the hands of her own daughter, and she ended upleaving Harlem’s Paradise to Luke Cagein her will. Harlem’s Paradise had served as the seat of power for her crime empire, and it was now up to Cage to decide what to do with it. In a very shocking twist, Cage ended up accepting the nightclub and crowned himself as the new sheriff of Harlem. He essentially became the very thing he wanted to destroy, and that could have led to a wild third season.

Luke Cage

By the end of season two, Harlem’s hero was replaced by a brand-new crime boss. While he may utilize his new position for good, this new power could also corrupt him. However, viewers will never know just how it plays out as the show was canceled after season two aired. The only glimpse into this new lifestyle they got was a quick cameo appearance inMarvel’s Jessica Jones’season three finale, but that only made aLuke Cagefollow-up even more mandatory.

A Luke Cage Video Game Could Show Viewers What Happens Next

There is no news of a continuation ofMarvel’s Luke Cageon Disney Plus, and that has left fans wondering what could have been. The ending of season two could have led to a very interesting season three that saw Cage grapple with everything that comes with his new position, but that story may never come to fruition. If Marvel Studios does not follow up on this potential, then maybe it is time for a video game developer to step in.

If Marvel has no plans for Luke Cage, then it should be willing to give the character to a video game developer instead. A game could go more in-depth into the character, and it could show fans of the show just what went down after he took the mantle of sheriff of Harlem. It could simply be a retelling of the shows events with the lost third season, or it could pick up right where the show left off. It could serve as thestreet-level superhero story that Marvel games are missing, and could also be a great way to give the Netflix chapter of Marvel some closure.

Marvel’s Luke Cagewas very popular during its tenure, and Marvel fans deserve to see what happens next. While it would be awesome to see Cage’s story continue to play out within the MCU, it does not seem like that will be the case. It currently only looks likeMarvel’s Daredeviland possiblyMarvel’s Jessica Joneswill survive that era of Marvel, butMarvel’s Luke Cagedeserves closure, even if it is only in a video game.
