Summary

Kokichi Muta, otherwise known as Mechamaru is a second year student at the Kyoto Jujutsu High and one of the key characters in the development of theJujutsu Kaisenstory development. Born with a fragile and weak body due to his Heavenly Restriction (a binding placed on him at birth in exchange for improved abilities on his body in a separate life).
However, as a result, Kokichi was unable to attend Jujutsu High in his human form but instead used a proxy known as Ultimate Mechamaru - a cursed corpse-like robot controlled by his puppet manipulation technique which he could command at will.
The Puppet Master
Kokichi is initially seen with wrinkled skin and covered in bandages lying in a bath tub with tubes surrounding him keeping him alive. He had a missing right arm along with no feelings below his waist. He also hadextremely sensitive skin which couldcould not be exposed to air from the outside. In return for this however, Kokichi had plenty of cursed energy stored, he mostly used his puppet manipulation technique to control Mechamaru and his other puppets. Kokichi was mostly a quiet character who hated being born and would do anything to live a normal human life. He compares himself to Panda who is also a cursed corpse like Mechamaru, this angers him as he is jealous that Panda gets to explore the world while he was trapped within the consciousness of Mechamaru.
Kokichi just wanted to live a normal life with his classmates as a regular human jujutsu sorcerer, it is later seen that his sheer desperation knew no bounds as he ends up betraying his friends by striking a binding vow with Mahito and Kenjaku to pass on vital information inreturn for a healthy body. He does however tell them not to hurt his friends but a battle with Mahito ensues as soon as the binding vow was completed. Kokichi realizing that he needs to protect his classmates goes into a full-blown battle with Mahito but does not emerge victorious but meets a sad and timely death.
Ultimate Mechamaru
Being paralyzed for the majority of his life, Kokichi transferred his consciousness into the mechanical body of Mechamaru which gave him the ability to move around, interact with his colleagues and also grant him combat abilities. Despite his physical limitation, Kokichi was able to effectively fight curses and curse users by using Mechamaru to his advantage. Equipped with gadgets and weapons that enhance Kokichi’s jujutsu abilities, Mechamaru was capable of blasting cursed energy in the form of high-intensity beams from his palms, transforming his arms into deadly powerful weapons and shields.
Thanks to Kokichi’s puppet manipulation techniquehe was able to control multiple Mechamarus wherever they may be. Mechamaru also has an even more powerful move known as Mode: Albatross which allows him to reveal a canon within the robotic mouth which is capable of blasting a massive beam of cursed energy from the barrel, destroying everything in its way.
Cursed Energy and Skills
Kokichi is also known to be a great tactical thinker who can assess his opponent and take advantage of his surroundings, even Kenjaku praised him for his tactical intellect during his fight Mahito, he kept coming closer to defeating Mahito and damaging his body. Kokoichi’s heavenly restriction also plays a key role here as he was able to collect a massive amount of cursed energy which consisted of seventeen years, five months, and six days of cursed energy collected throughout his lifewhich allows him to discharge powerfulattacks at once.
During Kokichi’s final battle, he used Ultimate Mechamaru-Mode: Absolute, which is a giant mechanical puppet that Kokichi can control from the cockpit which is located in its head. Fans theorize that the giant mechanical puppet could be a subtle nod to the mecha anime that took the world by storm.
The giant mechanical puppet also had its own set of powerful attacks such as miracle canon, a powerful blast of energy from both its hands, and pigeon viola, the cursed energy version of homing missiles, which follows the targets until it hits. In terms of barrier techniques,Kokichi was able to develop a techniqueknown as the new shadow style: simple domain, he executes this by shooting a sharp bullet from the finger rip of the giant puppet, once the bullet enters the opponent’s body, Kokichi is then able to activate his simple domain cursed technique.
During the Shibuya Incident, although dead, Kokichi appears in the form of a small circle mechanical device, which consists of the final remains of his cursed energy. He used his remaining cursed energy to helphis classmates navigate the surrounding dangersand also supported them during their battles with the enemies.
