Fans, both new and old, are likely looking forward to its launch and EA is hoping to makeMadden NFL 24a major success.
It’s been reported thatMadden NFL 24is a “make or break” game for EA. Hoping to bounce back from recent fan-frustration with the series, EA is investing heavily in making this upcoming title a hit. While new technology and improved gameplay will play a role in this effort, sports games also need good lineups to attract gamers and sports fans. In a tweet on July 22, EA Sports gave gamers a look at the “99 Club” for this season. The five players that are in this elite group are Justin Jefferson, wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings; Aaron Donald, defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams; Zack Martin, offensive guard for the Dallas Cowboys; Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs; and Patrick Mahomes, quarterback for the Chiefs. This announcement should please fans of these players and their teams. Kansas City Chiefs fans, especially, have bragging rights due to having two players with 99 rankings, including Kelce, who also ranks among thebest tight ends inMadden NFL 24.
The “99 Club” is heavily weighted towards offense this season, featuring only a single defensive player. It does show some love to often overlooked positions, however, including a guard and a tackle along with the flashier positions of tight end, receiver, and QB. It’s also surprising that none of thebest running backs inMadden NFL 24made the cut, but it seems EA Sports didn’t think any of this year’s RBs were quite impressive enough to earn the honor.
EA Sports and itsMaddenfranchise have certainly been struggling lately. Between frustrations with gameplay andserver issues wiping theNFL 23saves of many fanslast year, EA Sports can’t afford to see another entry flop. While observers and critics will have to wait until August to see if the publisher can right the ship, many fans will probably remain hopeful and excited until then. Knowing which players to target for their teams will definitely give them something to keep them occupied while they wait.
Madden NFL 24releases on August 18 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
