From September 9 through September 11,Disneywill be hosting its big D23 Expo, where fans can expect all kinds of reveals and announcements about upcomingDisneyfilms, includingStar Warsand MCU projects. D23 will be mostly focused on upcoming Disney movies, but there will also be a special gaming showcase during the event where both Disney and Marvel video games will be on display.
The Disney and Marvel Games Showcase at D23 will take place on Friday, September 9 at 1pm PT, hosted by Blessing Adeoye Jr. of Kinda Funny Games. Disney & Pixar Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, and 20th Century Games will all have projects on display during the event. Previously-announced games likeDisney Dreamlight ValleyandMarvel’s Midnight Sunswill also be featured at the event, as willLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which launched earlier this year.

Besides these projects, those tuning in can also look forward to seeing the new Marvel ensemble game in development at Skydance New Media. Very little is known about this Marvel game in an official capacity, but we do know thatAmy Hennigis working on it. Hennig, for the uninitiated, played a key role in major games like the originalUnchartedtrilogy,Jak 3, theLegacy of Kaingames, and more, so there’s a great deal of excitement about her Marvel project.
Disney & Marvel Games Showcase Date and Time
One game that’s conspicuous by its absence isStar Wars Jedi: Survivor.Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris the highly-anticipated sequeltoStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, with this new game set five years after Cal Kestis' original adventure. There’s a great deal of hype behindStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, so it would be quite strange for it to not have any kind of presence at the event. Then again, it’s possible publisher Electronic Arts has other plans forStar Wars Jedi: Survivorand may be looking to showcase it at some other upcoming events instead, like Gamescom this month or The Game Awards in December, though that’s just speculation at this time.
Of course, it’s also possible thatStar Wars Jedi: Survivorwill indeed by shown during the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase and just hasn’t been named yet, so fans should keep that in mind. Another major Disney video game project that hasn’t been mentioned is theIndiana Jonesgame in development at MachineGames, so maybe fans will get another glimpse of that at D23, too.
Ultimately, it’s best to keep one’s expectations in check. The only games we can count on being at the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase areDisney Dreamlight Valley,Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the Amy Hennig Marvel project, andLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
