For those needing proof, they only need to look at thesales ofMario Kart 8 Deluxeon the Nintendo Switch. Since its release, it has become the best-selling game on the platform. One reason for the popularity of the series is the multitude of zany courses players can race across. While there is no shortage of tracks in each game, a favorite for many is Coconut Mall fromMario Kart Wii.

As part of the tracks available onMario Kart Wii, Coconut Mall became an instant classic for many. As the name indicates, the setting for the course is a shopping mall. In a post on Reddit, a user known as M1L3SJP shared a video featuring Coconut Mall. However, this was not theMario Kart Wiiversion of the course. Instead, the creator had managed to build a stunning replica of the racetrack in theblocky world ofMinecraft. In the video, the creator showed off many impressive details based on the iconic course. Some highlights included palm trees, a large sign that read “Coconut Mall,” and pillagers operating boats in a parking lot. In addition, the creator even included the catchy music track for the course, adding to the nostalgia of the experience.

While this attention to detail evidenced the countless hours needed to recreate Coconut Mall, this was not the only reason the project was impressive. Beyond remaking the many features of the course, M1L3SJP also revealed that it was playable. With a road made of ice, players could race around the track in boats.

Unsurprisingly, numerous nostalgic fans took notice of this recreation of Coconut Mall. With over 7,200 upvotes in only a few hours, many were impressed with the design. Among the comments, many praised the creator for managing to include theshortcuts found inMario Kart Wii. “Every shortcut, nuance, and alternate route is completely recreated,” M1L3SJP said. In addition, some people claimed that this proved aMario KartandMinecraftcrossover needed to happen.

Interestingly, this is not the only racetrack that has been created inMinecraftover the past couple of weeks. In fact, many gamers have designed courses using ice roads. For example, another talented player made a customiceboat racetrack named Neon Circuit, which featured hairpin turns and multiple vertical levels. It will be interesting to see if even more course designs are shared with the community in the weeks ahead.
