Coming to the game officially in only a matter of days, it seems as though the addition of Spawn toMortal Kombat 11has already been incredibly well-received by fans. Not only are hisfatalities, brutalities, skins, and entrancessome of the best the esteemed fighting game has seen to date, but he also appears to be a great deal of fun to play. It seems as well that another aspect of the DLC fighter pack has been heavily touted byMortal Kombatfans, that being the ending awarded to players for finishing Spawn’s specific tower.

For those who haven’t playedMortal Kombat 11before, the game features a mode called Klassic Tower, that essentially sees players make their way through increasingly deadly foes before facing the game’s central antagonist,Kronika, in a grand finale. After beating the time manipulating boss, the player then sees a short ending cutscene that changes based on which fighter they selected.

Spawn’s is perhaps one of the most interesting of the bunch, showcasing a number of instantly recognizable characters from the character’s classic movies as well as some really interesting merges of bothSpawnandMortal Kombatlore. Defeating Kronika, Spawn seemingly decides to purge demonic Netherealm invaders alongside Scorpion and Sub-Zero, with the trifecta appearing to form something of a demon-slaying, vigilante team that is slowly but surely eradicating all evil.

The clip contains a number of fun easter eggs alongside an enjoyable bit of story. One sees Spawn compare Kronika toMalebolgia, the demon from the comics that originally transforms Spawn into the vengeful vigilante, while the supervillain Violator is also seen in one of the final shots donning his iconic Clown disguise. Evidently, Netherealm has put a lot of time and care into making Spawn’s cinematic ending as authentic and packed with comic-based lore as humanly possible, and it turns out to be a terrific love letter to the character as a result.

With Spawn joining the game’s roster incredibly soon, a number of fans have already turned their heads to who could be making their way to the game in a potential Kombat Pack 2.Ash from Ash vs Evil Deadhas been a name touted by a large number of leaks and rumors, while Sheeva and Fujin are two very likely candidates at the time of writing as well. Michael Myers has also been mentioned a few times to great reactions from fans, with many hoping the lumbering horror icon will make an appearance.

Mortal Kombat 11is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Spawn releases March 17th for Kombat Pass holders.
