A game likeMultiVersustook a big risk coming out as a free-to-play title, but it recognized a need for it in the gaming industry and took its shot. UnlikeSuper Smash Bros.,it isn’t asking people to spend $60 on it, or only be available on Nintendo devices exclusively. It has retained a strong player base thanks in large part to how accessible the game is.
The game’s roster is full of Warner Bros. Discovery-owned and associated properties, ranging fromDC ComicstoGame of Thrones. That also means that all the shows featured onCartoon Networkcould potentially have their beloved characters land on the roster.MultiVersusis constantly adding new characters, so it’s fun to look at which ones from Cartoon Network deserve a spot.
8Courage the Cowardly Dog
Why on Earth would a dog who’s afraid of its own shadow beinvolved in a gamewhere fighting is required? Logically it doesn’t make sense for Courage fromCourage the Cowardly Dogto joinMultiVersus,but this wildly entertaining brawler doesn’t operate on logic. As a character, Courage provides a canvas for designers to get creative.
A neat idea would be to have Courage look away in fear when he does a move, and in that instant, a notable frightening monster or entity he’s dealt with in the show appears and is the one doing the attack. He could also have a fear meter that fills up as he’s damaged, which allows him to perform a special move of some sort. Or maybe he simply becomes stronger with the more damage he incurs.
7Billy & Mandy
It’s kind of odd thatMultiVersusleft Billy and Mandy off the initial roster as their showThe Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandydeveloped into a cult favorite for a generation of kids watching Cartoon Network. The two aren’t all that special on their own, but working together, they could easily get the best of those who underestimate them.

Grim would have to be involved in their moveset, likely being the flashy ultimate Billy and Mandy pull off to finish off their opponent. WithMultiVersusalso featuring alternate costumes for its roster of characters, there’s a lot of creative freedom that could result in some beloved Billy and Mandy skins.
6Dexter
Dexter, fromthe showDexter’s Laboratory, may not be the most physically imposing character, but his smarts can certainly give him an advantage in a game likeMultiVersus.He’s the type of character who would build gadgets to compete with other characters.
Every fighting game roster is only made stronger by mechanic variety and having a character like Dexter, who doesn’t fit the traditional moveset, can go a long way in diversifying the in-game meta. It’s also hard to deny how iconic his voice, is as he uniquely pronounces every word in the English language.
5Mojo Jojo
The addition of villains is just as important as that of the heroes, so Mojo Jojo fromThe Powerpuff Girlsfeels like theperfect evildoer to joinMultiVersus. Despite his small stature, this hyper-intelligent monkey can hold his own in hand-to-hand combat.

He’d likely be able to move rather quickly around the arena and would have the ability to call on weapons to dish out long-range damage on opponents. He’s also excellent at analyzing threats, so the idea of him gathering intel mid-match and turning that into a tactical advantage feels like something that would be authentic to the character and fill out his hit of powers and abilities.
4Ed, Edd, N' Eddy
Adding one member of theEd, Edd, N' Eddytrio sounds outright blasphemous, as the three friends are so close and feel like a packaged deal. The idea of making a fighting game character comprised of three interchangeable playable entities may sound overwhelming, butSuper Smash Bros.managed to pull it off quite effectively withthePokemonTrainer.
That means it’s possible thatMultiVersuscan pull something like this off. With the three each having a unique stature and personality, that means that their move sets can slightly differ and provide their unique pros and cons.
3Codename: Kids Next Door
Kids who grew up watchingCodename: Kids Next Dooron Cartoon Network were immediately fascinated at the idea of children running a covert spy operation. What made the show unique is each agent was assigned a number and each had a unique personality and design.MultiVersuswould have to take one of two approaches if it added them, simply due to the lot of five being a packaged deal.

The first is that Nigel Uno or Numbuh 1 would be the playable character, and each other agent would appear when he did a specific move as an assist of sorts. Otherwise, the other viable choice would be to have the player choose which agent they want to take into the match.
2The Powerpuff Girls
Ed, Edd, N' Eddyaren’t the only Cartoon Network trio that should be added to theMultiversusroster. There is a collection of three adorable but powerful girls itching to get in the ring and prove themselves:The Powerpuff Girls. It can be argued that Bubbles, Buttercup, and Blossom could all be their own standalone additions, but as their show has proved, they’re best when working in tandem with one another.
Blossom is the leader, so she may be the starting sister for every fight.Bubbles, on the other hand, is the emotional core, so she may be used for buffing her sisters and teammate. Buttercup has been described as the toughest and strongest of the trio, so she’s the finisher who comes in and makes sure her opponent is kicked off the map when time’s running out.
1Samurai Jack
Often regarded as the coolest-looking Cartoon Network character of all time, it’s a shame thatSamurai Jackisn’t ontheMultiVersusrosteryet. He’s a legendary warrior who held his own against incredible threats and has maintained a good amount of popularity despite a long hiatus from the network in terms of new content.
He’s shown proficiency with both his blade and long-range weapons like bows and firearms. This means that he’d likely be designed as an all-around fighter who can attack from multiple angles and varying distances.
