President Morty’s Nefarious Background

The President Morty variant skin is currently redeemable for 500 Gleamium, but some players may be wondering why there’s a version of the fifteen-year-old boy with a black dress shirt and red tie. Fans of the animated show,Rick and Morty, are likely already familiar with the character design and know him as President Morty, who is also called Evil Morty by some.

Evil Morty’s first appearance is in season one, episode 10, titled “Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind,” but he is also seen in Season 3, episode 7, and Season 5, episode 10 called “Rickmurai Jack.” Adult Swim’s popular show reiterates time and time again that there are infinite versions of people, including variants of Morty Smith and Rick Sanchez, scattered across the multi-verse. The President Morty version of Morty is theorized to be one of Rick’s old companions from a different dimension. He grew tired of being constantly abused and controlled by the Ricks, which led him to become both cunning and ruthless.

Armothy Rick and Morty

Still, Evil Morty almost always lands on people’sbestRick and Mortyepisodeslist. In the Season 1 finale, this Morty was seen controlling a Rick in a plot twist that began his run as the series' closest thing to a main antagonist. Throughout each season, Evil Morty usually appears in at least one episode, except for in Season 2.

However, the President Morty outfit comes directly from “The Ricklantis Mixup"episode from Season 3. In this episode, the character runs for office on Citadel of Ricks, passing himself off as a charismatic and caring candidate. It was here that he won the people’s vote and earned himself a new title, which in Season 5 ended up allowing him to wield enough power over the Citadel to escape the part of the universe that Rick could control.

The Origins of Armothy

Whilstlearning Morty’s best moves forMultiVersus, many players might have noticed that a large muscular arm replaces one of his normally skinny arms. This occurs when pressing the Normal Air Down button, which triggers the “Armothy Assault” that acts similarly to Bugs Bunny’s spike move, but with a longer windup.

Armothy originates from Season 3, episode 2 dubbed “Rickmancing the Stone.” The arm used to belong to a woodcutter in a small postapocalyptic village, but was detached from its owner after the village was plundered. Rick fuses Armothy to Morty’s body, along with its muscle memory but it still has independent thought. Morty uses Armothy to fight in the “Thunder Dome,” a gladiatorial arena, and in turn, he helped Armothy get revenge against the man who killed his family. After the deed is done, Armothy disappears and is not seen again.

MultiVersustruly is only limited by its imagination in terms of maps and its roster. What Warner Bros. Interactive might do with five, soon to be six, seasons worth ofRick and Mortycontent is an exciting prospect, especially since it’s already been suggestedin a Reddit leak that Pickle Rick is on the way. Perhaps Lawyer Morty, Mech Suit Morty, Tiny Rick, or other variants of the duo will appear in future updates.

MultiVersusis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
