The news came asFinal Fantasy 14preps up its media cycle to talk about some content updates for players of all kinds to enjoy in the near future.In just a few days,Final Fantasy 14will undergo some needed server upgradesin the North American data centers. This will be in order to change some of the equipment that the game runs on and ensure thatFinal Fantasy 14can run as smoothly as possible in the future. The server upgrades will require a 24-hour maintenance period, from April 3 to 4, and will coincide with the release of Patch 6.38. However, this offer does not extend to Free Trial players or those that have purchasedEndwalker, which includes access to all previous expansions. Originally released in June 2017,Stormbloodsaw players explore the regions of Gyr Abania and the Far East, push back against the oppressive tyranny of the Garlean Empire, and play as the Samurai and Red Mage jobs.Stormbloodalso introduced players to Zenos, one of the most divisive andunhinged villains in theFinal Fantasyseries, who remained fixated on fighting the Warrior of Light throughout the expansion’s main story.
While the plot ofStormblood’s main story is another topic that dividesFinal Fantasy 14players, the expansion is also home to some ofthe most impressive-looking dungeonsand trials to date. From the vibrant Shisui of the Violet Tides to the battle-scarred Doma Castle,Stormblood’s instanced content remains among the best thatFinal Fantasy 14has to offer. In the post-expansion patch content, players will also be able to experience even more content, including the “Return to Ivalice” alliance raid series that served as a love letter to fans ofFinal Fantasy 12andFinal Fantasy Tactics.
In addition to the freeStormbloodupgrade,the free login campaignforFinal Fantasy 14is back for returning players to experience four free days of game time until May 8.
