Perhaps one of the most highly anticipated games for the current console generation is Ubisoft’sGods and Monsters. Few details have been shared for the game since itsannouncement at E3 2019; however, Ubisoft recently announced that the game had been given a new name but did not reveal what it was. Now it seems that the game’s new title has been discovered, thanks to a new rating by the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee.

The announcement of the name change forGods and Monsterscame shortly after a dev build of the game leaked to the public. The dev build was made available onGoogle Stadiaunder the nameOrpheususingGods and Monsterspromo art for the thumbnail. According to Google, the build was available for less than 30 minutes, and only “a few hundred gamers were able to play it.”

In response to this early build leaking, Ubisoft explained that the build of the game was an early demo that was playable for journalists at E3 2019. The developer went on to say thatGods and Monstershad been given a new namehad even been given a new name andhas changed tremendously since that build. Now according to the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee, a Ubisoft game calledImmortals: Fenyx Risinghas been rated for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, causing many to believe that this may be the new title forGods and Monsters.

The main character forGods and Monsterswas previously confirmed by Ubisoft to be named Fenyx, lending credibility to this leak. WhileImmortals: Fenyx Risingcertainly seems to be the new name forGods and Monsters, it is odd that Google Stadia isn’t listed as one of the platforms in the game’s rating. However, that could just mean that the Stadia version will be coming at a later date, similarly toDoom Eternalon Nintendo Switch.

With the game’s new title possibly known, players should be looking forward to all of the latest details potentially coming at the next Ubisoft Forward event. Hopefully, players will be able to find out news about several newmythological creatures they can slayin their adventures, as well as details forImmortals: Fenyx Rising’s story.

However, Ubisoft is currently facing much more serious matters than a game’s new title. Many higher-ups onGods and Monstersare facing allegationsof sexual misconduct as well as physical and verbal abuse. Even with Ubisoft removing several of these high-level employees from the company, many employees feel that the work culture there won’t change. It looks like only time will tell if these changes will improve employees' day-to-day lives and help them to put out quality titles.

Immortals: Fenyx Risingis currently in development for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
