The end of the latest Pokemon Presents event included the reveal ofPokemon Legends: Z-A, the sequel to the belovedPokemon Legends: Arceus, set to launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch in 2025.Pokemon Legends: Arceusreleased in 2022 and was considered by many to be a breath of fresh air for thePokemonfranchise. Rumors have been swirling about a newPokemon Legendsgame in the weeks leading up to the latest Pokemon Presents, and now the game has finally been announced for release next year.

Pokemon Legends: Z-Ais the title of the nextPokemon Legendsgame.Set in the Kalos region, last seen inPokemon X and Y, the CG trailer for the game teased a handful of the Pokemon that will be featured and revealed that the plot would either be about building Lumiose City or rebuilding it. SincePokemon Legends: Arceuswas set in the past, many have assumed that the same will hold true forPokemon Legends: Z-A, but the trailer also used some futuristic imagery that suggests it could be set in the future. Ultimately,Pokemonfans will have to wait for more official details to be sure.

In the meantime, it was confirmed thatMega Evolutionsare coming back inPokemon Legends Z-A, as evidenced by the use of the Mega Evolution symbol in the trailer. It’s possible that there are other clues hidden throughout the trailer, and so it will be interesting to see if fans discover anything else. Fans may want to turn their attention to thePokemon Legends: Z-Alogo, as there’s one interesting choice that may have some kind of implication about what fans can expect about the game.

For some reason, thePokemon Legendsbit in the logo is in black and white. This seemingly points toPokemon Black and White, which wereset in the Unova region, yet the new game is clearly set in Kalos. Perhaps Unova will also a play a role inPokemon Legends: Z-A, or maybe the black and white logo means nothing.

Prior to the Pokemon Presents, there were consistent rumors thatPokemon Black and Whiteremakeswere in the works, but such projects weren’t announced. Regardless,Pokemonfans have two new projects to look forward to after the Pokemon Presents:Pokemon Trading Card Game PocketandPokemon Legends: Z-A.
