Samus Hunter thinks there is an 80% chance that the next andlast DLC fighter forSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatewill be a third party character. The insider thinks that all of the Nintendo upcoming releases will have Spirit Battles, but that the top Switch games have already been represented inUltimate. The new opportunities come from third party games and partnerships. However, this only appears to be an educated guess and not inside information.

At one point, theSuper Smash Bros.serieswas a love letter to Nintendo, with characters, music, easter eggs, and more coming from decades of Nintendo games. But now, thanks to the addition ofMetal Gear Solid’s Snake, Banjo and Kazooie, Sonic, Mega Man,Street Fightercharacters, Pac Man,Castlevaniacharacters, and so much more, the game has become something more. As such, it would make sense if the final fighter was a third party hero.

There are plenty of fans who are anticipating the last fighter will be first party. Specifically, the hope is thatWaluigi will finally make his way toSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatevia the final slot. TheMariocharacter has been waiting for just about two decades, and if this is indeed the last character forUltimate, Waluigi’s final opportunity would come and go if he misses the cut.

There is a lot of pressure with the next DLC character forSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. Nintendo and Masahiro Sakurai have confirmed that there will be no more fighter passes, so the game with the tagline “Everyone is Here” will come to a close rather soon.Sakurai himself has talked about retirementin the past, but it is perhaps more likely that he finally decides to work full time on other projects outside ofSuper Smash Bros., leaving the door open for others to take over the massively popular franchise. Whoever the final fighter is, it will be hard to ever top the roster and depth ofSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.
