After more than a year of disappointments, with PC enthusiasts and gamers struggling to acquire newNvidiaor AMD products without having to pay many magnitudes above the MSRP, it looks as though the market is beginning to heal. There are already reports thatgraphics card supplies are getting betterand prices are starting to drop, and now it looks as though team green has a few GPUs selling through retailers in the UK at reduced prices.

According to a recent report from PC Gamer, the cost ofNvidiaRTX 30 cards has dropped, with places like Overclockers and Ebuyer putting stocks of them up on their website for more reasonable prices. As an example, the Inno3D RTX 3070 Ti X3 8 GB is currently on sale for £630 at the time of writing, or roughly $820. The report goes on to say that there may be more deals on the horizon, so it’s worth keeping an eye on things for any potential customers in the UK who are looking for a new graphics card.

The news seems to be positive all round. At the beginning of the month, an analyst saidNvidia and AMD prices would inevitably plummet, and while much of what’s out on the market is still about the MSRP, the fact that prices are continuing to drop is a trend that’s been noticed for a few weeks now. This will be a huge relief for anyone who remembers how last summer prices peaked at 300% above retail value and supplies were at record lows, thanks in part to cryptominers buying stock in bulk and the ongoing pandemic causing a rise in demand.

While last yearIntel said the semiconductor shortage could on until 2023, things are beginning to improve already, which will be good news for team blue, which is just about to enter the GPU market with its Arc desktop cards coming this summer. Some may be understandably wary, but if this trend continues, then it looks as though things will be back to normal perhaps sooner than expected.

It will also be good for the future of graphics cards. WithAMD announcing the RDNA 3architecture and Nvidia looking to launch the RTX 40 series this year, the industry is moving forward into the next generation. There’s no telling how things will pan out, but ifNvidiakeeps doing deals for its RTX 30 cards, then it will mean more people will be able to buy their products and hopefully those of other manufacturers as well.
