Oda’s Comments
Oda stated thatOnePiecehas finally entered the much-awaited final saga. This means that it won’t be long until Luffy achieves hisgoal of becoming the Pirate King. Fans who have been reading/watching the series are nervous to see how the incredible story of Monkey D. Luffy will come to an end. Given the quality of the recent chapters, fans can expect the final saga to be one of the best of all time.
Some readers were quite nervous after hearing Oda’s statement. They were concerned that Oda might speed up things in an attempt to end the series as quickly as possible. Their concerns stemmed from the fact that many good manga series have botched their endings by increasing the pace of their story. Many people firmly believe that ending a manga is much more difficult to draw, and considering the final arcs of some of the manga, it is hard to argue against it. Another thing that caused paranoia in the fanbase was the fact that Oda revealed thebackstory of Eustass Kid in an SBS. It was a bit odd, as Kid played an extremely important role in the alliance’s victory over Kaido. It seemed that Oda would wrap up additional things in the SBS instead of including them in the manga.

Thankfully, Oda has cleared up the confusion about the ending ofOnePiece. During the Jump Festa that took place on December 18th, 2022, Oda confirmed that the series will end at its own pace and there is no need for fans to worry. This is a huge confirmation, and it also means thatOnePiecemight end a few years after dates that Oda had previously.
Why Fans Should Be Excited
It is understandable that fans are anxious about the manga coming to an end, but it could affect their ability to enjoy the content in the long run. Thefinal saga ofOnePiecewill uncover all the mysteries that the audience knows nothing about. Some of these secrets have been kept hidden for hundreds of chapters, and getting to know the truth is reason enough to be excited. Aside from tying up the loose ends, Oda will also draw some big fights, which will give the characters a chance to show off their power. The characters with little screen time, such as Dragon, Mihawk, Aokiji, etc., will most definitely be involved in these fights.

Above all,OnePiecefans should be happy that the series is ending because it will allow Oda to focus on his health. Being a mangaka is tough, and many people have pointed out how hectic their schedules are. Several mangaka who started working after Oda have developed health complications, which is why they have to take small breaks or put the series on indefinite hiatus. So, someone like Oda, who has been working for decades nonstop, won’t be in good condition either. By wrapping up the story ofOnePiece, Oda will be able to focus on other things that he likes and wants to do. Considering the amount of effort he has put into the manga, it would be the perfect prize for him.
What Does The Future Look Like?
Currently, theOnePiecemanga isfocused on Egghead Island, which is the home of Dr. Vegapunk. So far, Oda has revealed many secrets, and they pertain to devil fruits, Ohara, and the ancient kingdom. This only means that upcoming chapters will have even more information about the various things in the series. The Egghead Island arc also features an epic showdown between the Straw Hat Pirates and CP0. The Straw Hats have to win the fight at all costs if they want to protect Vegapunk.
When the Straw Hats leave Egghead Island, it is highly likely that they will head toward Elbaf, especially after Oda revealed that Jaguar D. Saul is still alive and living in his homeland. If the Straw Hats head there, it will provide Robin with an opportunity to meet the person, who gave her hope. It was due to Saul’s words of encouragement that she was able to survive the harsh world.
In addition to Robin, going to Elbaf will be monumental for Usopp, who has always wanted to visit the land of giants. In the other possible arcs, the Straw Hats will visit the Laugh Tale, fight the World Government, and finally clash against the Blackbeard Pirates. These are just possibilities, but there is no telling what Oda has planned for the end of the series. One thing is for certain; Oda will be working extra hard on the conclusion to make it perfect.
