The developers did say that an updatewith cross-platform multiplayeris scheduled in “early 2021”, which is probably when Xbox players should expect the game to the Xbox Series X, given that it wouldn’t make sense for the game to have cross-platform if it’s only available on one console. This definitive edition ofOvercookedwill feature over 200 levels from previous games, alongside seven new ones that have never been released before. It will also include three new chefs, 60fps gameplay in 4K resolution, faster loading times, and brand new trophies and achievements.
Apart from the remastered levels from the first twoOvercookedgames, Ghost Town also revealed that it is introducing accessibility options that will allow more people to enjoy the games properly. The new Assist Modewill indicate to players specific shapes and colors to aid those with color blindness to follow along. Moreover,Overcooked All You Can Eatwill add an option that will make dialogue boxes dyslexia-friendly, as well as the ability to change UI text subtitles and menu descriptions.
With so many improvements,Overcooked All you may Eatmay be shaping up to be a must-buy for fans of the franchise who are upgrading to the next-generation consoles next month. Of course, while veteran fans of the franchise will still see benefit from the many enhancements of the upcoming collection, the upcoming game may also open an opportunity for the developers to introduce the franchise to a whole new generation of gamers. Hopefully,Overcook’stransition to the next-generationwill also usher in a new era for the series withOvercooked 3.
