There’s been a lot of ups and downs forOverwatch 2players during launch week, but one in particular has their play of the game moment ruined by an untimely server disconnect message. While especially unfortunate for that player, it’s been atough week for everyone who has attempted to log in toOverwatch 2. Following a couple of beta sessions and positive buzz, the launch of Blizzard’s latest game has been marred by technical issues, errors, missing content, and server disconnects.

WithOverwatch 2moving to a free to play format with challenges and battle passes, there seems to have been a higher than anticipated strain of people attempting to log in at launch. In fact, most players were unable to log in, promptingBlizzard to provide an update on the variousOverwatch 2issues. While things have largely stabilized in the days since, players continue to run into the odd error, glitch, or bug, including one player who has their big moment ruined by an untimely error.

For longtimeOverwatchplayers, the end of match Play of the Game is a moment intended to showcase a fantastic or key play for one player in particular. For reddit user brotherlymoses aka Sleepybear, their work with the Swedish engineer Torbjorn earned them the coveted Play of the Game following anOverwatch 2team victory. However, as the endscreen gave way to that highly anticipated reveal, a server disconnect error unceremoniously ended things before the play could be seen.

While unfortunate for brotherlymoses, the short clip did provide some humor for those in the thread with many echoing that the play was so epic that itbroke theOverwatch 2servers. Interestingly enough, this disconnect also spawned a side discussion regarding achievements potentially causing disconnects as well. More than one user indicated that earning an achievement inOverwatch 2immediately caused them to get kicked. In fact, one user named Jrs_Hot_Dogs even mentioned they smashed their controller after unlocking various achievements four games in a row and getting sent back to an hour-long login queue.
