Players can go on quests solo or team up with friends to uncoverPalia’s secrets across a fantasy realm with ancient ruins. One of the first quests players encounter is the Ancient Battery quest, which involves deciphering a mysterious riddle to open a locked door.

The Ancient Battery riddle can be a head-scratching puzzle for players to solve, particularly for new players getting used to how the game’s mechanics and tools work. Fortunately,Palia’s Ancient Battery riddle solutionis pretty straightforward once players know what to do.
How to Begin the Ancient Battery Riddle Quest in Palia
TheAncient Battery questis an early-game quest that is unlocked soon after players discover theFlow Batteryand speak with Jina about it. Players later receive a letter from Jina in their mailbox on their farm plot, asking them to investigate an old door near the waterfall where players first beginPalia.
To begin the Ancient Battery quest, enter the ruins' door just past the waterfall in thePhoenix Fallsmap area. It leads players inside an ancient ruins area containing a locked doorway at the top of a staircase, surrounded by water. Interact with the door to reveal a mysteriousriddle, which players must figure out to open the door and progress.
Palia Ancient Battery Riddle Solution
Fortunately, players don’t need to do much to open the door but will need to use their watering can, one ofPalia’s upgradable tools and equipment.To solve the Ancient Battery riddle, players should fill up their watering can with water from the surrounding stairwell below. Use the watering can to fill the bowl in the middle of the room with water.
Once the bowl is full up, the riddle is solved.A short cut-scene activates that shows the door opening and reveals a dragon-like statue within. Jina also shows up with Hekla on the left. Speak to Jina, and then head through the open door to investigate the ruins as much as possible. Players will need togetPalia’s gliderin the ‘Like A Bird’ quest to check out the ruins further at a later stage. For now, players should return to Jina and speak with her tocomplete the Ancient Battery quest.
