Summary
Recent rumors have indicated that an update toPalworldin the near future will include an increase to the game’s level cap. This is great news for players that have hit the ceiling when it comes to gathering experience and increasing their stats. A higher level cap will be an important addition toPalworld’s endgame, but just increasing the level cap will not be enough to satisfy high level players craving more content.
Pocket Pair should consider more ways to increase the longevity of the game. While increasing the level cap will offer more levels to chase, players should be able to gain those levels by taking on new challenges in the world. There is ample opportunity to add in more bosses, new Pals like the datamined Mewtwo lookalike called Dark Mutant, new features, or even new areas to explore.

Palworld’s Endgame Needs New Content
The current level cap inPalworldis level 50. This means that once players have hit this level, their stats cannot increase. Pals cannot be leveled past 50 either. This leaves players to focus on earning technology points that can then be used to unlock new schematics. If players have cleared the technology tree, then they can instead focus onfilling out their Paldeck. If their Paldeck is complete, then the endgame doesn’t have much by way of incentive for players to keep playing. They have, in its current pre-release state, essentially beaten the game.
This is why the game needs new content, like a late game progression system, alongside the rumored level cap raise. Otherwise, the gameplay might become a stale grind. Earlier this month, Pocket Pair devs took a step toward expanding the world ofPalworldby introducing raids. The first raid introducesa new Pal called Bellanoir. This raid does not have a precise release date, but it is possible that it could come out in concert with the raise to the level cap.

Palworld Raids Are Just the Beginning
While raids are a good way to periodicallyintroduce new Palsand additional content, they shouldn’t be the only endgame content on offer. The skilled Pal Tamers that are leveled enough to take on a raid will fight and presumably capture Bellanoir, only to find themselves once again bereft of content. Endgame content should take more time than a short, but sweet raid.
PerhapsPalworldtook inspiration, once again, fromPokemonin creating high level Pal raids.Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave stayed relevant through periodic Tera Raids that feature powerful Pokemon for players to challenge and capture.
There are many ways that Pocket Pair could add endgame content ahead ofPalworld’s full release. New areas to the map, for instance, could play host to new Pals. These areas could be locked behind ecological hazards, the same way that extremelyhot areas like Mount Obsidianrequire heat-resistant armor. This would provide hours of gameplay as players gathered material needed to make armor, set off on their adventure, and then faced the high level Pals that occupy the new region.
One obvious avenue for new content would be the addition of story-based missions. The lore withinPalworldremains largely mysterious at the moment. Players are limited to interactions with scattered diary entries across the map. Interactions withthe five factions ofPalworld, their leaders, and the other inhabitants of the Palpagos Island could offer a ton of additional content to keep players entertained.
Features Pocket Pair is Considering
Palworldis ultimately still in early access. Developers have promised that upon full release of the game there will be new Pals, new areas and dungeons, and new buildings and items. This is the kind of content that the players who have hit the level cap need. There areat least six Pals that have yet to be released, so their inclusion is something for fans to look forward to. It will be at least a year beforePalworldgets a full release, but the hope remains that the game will enjoy some new content, like an increase in the level cap, in the meantime.
