Regirock, Registeel, and Regice are a trio of Pokemon that made their debut in the Hoenn region. Catching them inPokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emeraldrequired some puzzle-solving, which could be frustrating for some trainers. Luckily, catching the Regis inPokemon Brilliant DiamondandPokemon Shining Pearlis a bit more straightforward.
Those who’ve playedPokemon Sword/Shieldknow that two additional Regis have been added: Regieleki and Regidrago. However, sinceBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearlonly has Pokemon from generation 1 to generation 4, Regieleki and Regidrago are unavailable. Once players have caught Regirock, Registeel, and Regice, they will the option of catching Regigigas.

Unlocking the Regis
Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlwon’t have players decoding Braille puzzles and unlocking Secret Chambers, but there are a few things that need completing before the Regis become available. For one, the main story ofBDSPneeds to be completed. This means defeating Team Galactic, catching the box-legendary (Dialga or Palkia), anddefeating the Elite Four and Champion Cynthia. Once these are completed and players have seen all 150 Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex, players can pick up the National Dex from Professor Rowan.
From Sandgem Town, head south anduse HM Surf to cross Route 220-221. On Route 221 is Ramanas Park, which replaces Pal Park from the originalPokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Speak to the receptionist in the Ramanas Park Lobby to view an item called theDiscovery Plate. This can be used in a cave in Ramanas Park called theDiscovery Room. However, the cost for the Discovery Plate is pretty hefty. Players will need to hand over1 Mysterious Shard (L)or they can pay with3 Mysterious Shards (S)instead.
Players can get Mysterious Shards by digging them up in the Underground. However,Mysterious Shards are quite rare, so it might take some time before players have the right amount.
Since aDiscovery Plateonly works once per Regi, players will need to get3 Discovery Platesin order to get Regirock, Registeel, and Regice. In total, players will gather3 Mysterious Shards (L)or9 Mysterious Shards (S).
Catching the Regis
Once the player has their first Discovery Plate, they can use it in the Discovery Room to spawn Regice. After catching it,buy another Discovery Plate to fight Registeel. Only after these two have been caught can players catch the final titan: Regirock.
Each of the Regi Titans are level 70, so players will be in for a fight when they go to catch them. Inflict status ailments and weaken them to make catching them easier. Bring plenty of Ultra Balls and Timer Balls since a Quick Ball may not work.
When all three Titans are captured, Ramanas Park will have more Slates for purchase. This means players will be able to catch other Legendary Pokemon such as the Legendary Beasts/Birds,the Eon Duo (Latios and Latias), and more. In addition, bringing all Regis to the temple in Snowpoint City will give trainers a chance at catching Regigigas.
