Even so, mostPokemonfans have likely imagined Pokemon being a real thing in the world, which has helped to propel things likePokemon GOto immense popularity.
SometimesPokemonfans decide to bring a piece of thereal world into thePokemonworld, and vice versa. Such is the case with this particular creation, where one fan imagined if the real world’s Bass Pro Shop existed in the world ofPokemon.

For anyone not in the know, the Bass Pro Shop is a company that has existed since the 1970s in the United States. It specializes in fishing and hunting apparel, equipment, and merchandise, and sports a prominent logo of a bass fish leaping out of the water next to the title of the store. It’s well-known among sport and fishing enthusiasts, so it’s easy to imaginePokemon fishersrunning to their local shop equivalent to stock up on necessary supplies.
Redditor rgund27 has brought this concept a little closer to reality by creating a new logo for ‘Karp Pro Shop’ with an image of the Pokemon Magikarp taking the place of the original bass. Rgund27 explained that they took apart the text of the original sign to construct the new Magikarp variant. The result is a replica that’s practically identical, with theMagikarp leaping out of the waterat a similar angle to the original bass.
Fans seem quite fond of the replica, with some asking for the file so that they can produce their own stickers of it. Others pointed out that some other Pokemon would have worked well for this creation, like Feebas, or for a perfect word play parody, Basculin. However, with so many different types of bass in the world and their prominence in fishing, the common Magikarp isn’t a bad choice to take its place. Though, that said, many people eagerly fish up bass as sport or for a tasty meal, while Magikarp is often thrown back, as it isn’t even good for eating.
Magikarp is a bit of an oddity, as it starts out as useless but has the capability ofturning into the terrifying Gyarados. Some players remain fond of it because of its evolved form, but something about the pathetically flopping Pokemon also manages to charm many fans in and of itself. All these years after its introduction inPokemon RedandBlue, it still has fans, so maybe more Magikarp business crossovers will be created by fans someday.
