A dedicatedPokemonfan has taken on a particularly unique challenge: taking all of the first generation Pokemon and fusing them together into a single creature. While fusing different Pokemon together is far from unheard of - actually rather common in thePokemonfan art community - fusing an entire generation together might be the first of its kind.
The first generation of course refers to the original 151 Pokemon lineup. All hailing from the Kanto region, the Pokemon of Gen 1 include many iconic creatures, including Pikachu, Charizard, Eevee, and more. Despite time continuously moving forward with the introduction of a whole eight other generations in the time since, the popularity of the first gen endures, with manyKanto Pokemon featured inPokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The unusualPokemonfusion artwork comes from Reddit user u/TB_Mumpitz, who has posted their work so far on one of the site’s mainPokemonforum pages. The artist is taking a communal approach to how each Pokemon, or rather at least a component of each Pokemon, is fused on. The artist is adding a single Pokemon per day, with the top-voted comment of the day being selected. Currently on Day 6 at the time of writing, the artisthas started with Arcanine, with Snorlax, Electrode, Voltorb, and Gastly fused into a creature that is equal parts hilarious and terrifying.
The current top vote is the addition of Kingler’s arms to replace Snorlax’s, meaning the fused creature will likely look more bizarre by the day. The idea is clearly a hit with otherPokemonfans, with the post having several hundred comments and nearly 2,000 upvotes. Other top suggestions on the post included adding Kangaskhan’s pouch to the Snorlax torso, replacing the Arcanine tail with Nintetales', and evenadding Ice-type oddity Jynx’s braonto the same region.
MostPokemonfans usually stick to just two creatures when it comes to creating fusion art, as to make a recognizable 50/50 blend between the two. Examples like afusion of Legendaries Articuno and Suicuneare far easier to visually decipher, with fans able to recognize certain features as one or the other, or a clear mesh of characteristics from both. Still though, the increasingly bizarre-looking Gen 1 Kanto Pokemon fusion will end up as something unlike any other fusion art, with trying to identify components of all 151 original Pokemon a seemingly fun prospect.
