Mega Evolutions have been inPokemon GOfor quite some time now, with players able to use them to help in raids, gym battles, and the fight against Team GO Rocket. Like how Pokemon have been normally implemented in the game so far, the different Mega Evolutions have been added over time, rather than all at once.
At this point inPokemon GO, there are only fourteen Mega Evolutions available for players to use. With there being 48 different Mega Evolutions to be found in the mainline titles, there are quite a lot that still needs to be added to the game.

The majority of the Mega Evolutions have been added alongside specific events inPokemon GO, with the most recent being Mega Altaria. This was to go alongsideMay 2021’s Community Day, which was focused on Altaria’s pre-evolved form, Swablu. Because of this, players will likely see the rest of the Mega Evolutions also coming alongside fitting events.
Pokemon GO: Missing Non-Legendary Kanto Mega Evolutions
The Kantostarter Pokemonmade up some of the first Pokemon inPokemon GOto properly get the ability to use Mega Evolution in the game. Since then, there are still plenty of Pokemon from the Kanto region that have yet to gain their own ability to use Mega Evolution. These Pokemon are:
Mega Pinsir- Dual Bug and Flying-type

Mega Aerodactyl- Dual Rock and Flying-type
Mega Slowbro- Dual Water and Psychic-type

Of these Pokemon, only Abra (the basic stage of Alakazam) has already had a Community Day event, opening up all the rest of these Pokemon to getting aCommunity Day eventthat can also be used to introduce their Mega Evolutions. Out of all of them, Slowbro would be the most likely, due to it having a pre-evolved form and most Community Days focusing on Pokemon that have the ability to evolve.
There are still plenty of other possible future events that can serve at great chances to implement these forms. Kangaskhan’s usual regional-exclusive status makes it perfect to have its Mega Evolution introduced during some kind of global event, where its possible to catch Pokemon from different regional locations. The rest can fit with other events that could appear inPokemon GO’s future at some point.

Missing Non-Legendary Johto Mega Evolutions
There are still fourMega Evolutionsfrom the Johto region that have yet to be added intoPokemon GO. They are:
Mega Scizor- Dual Bug and Steel-type

Mega Heracross- Dual Bug and Fighting-type
Mega Tyranitar- Dual Rock and Dark-type
Mega Steelix- Dual Steel and Ground-type
All of these Pokemon will have a lot of potential in battle once their Mega Evolutions are released. Like with Alakazam, Tyranitar already had an associated Community Day, with Larvitar Community Day back in June 2018. This makes Scizor and Steelix the more likely Pokemon to get their ability to Mega Evolve via a Community Day event, as they both have pre-evolved forms the event could be focused on.
Heracross’s Mega Evolution will likely be released within the same event as Pinsir’s Mega Evolution due to the parallel between the two Pokemon. This could happen with some kind of bug catching event or possibly an even bigger event.
Missing Non-Legendary Hoenn Mega Evolutions
Out of all of the regions that have Mega Evolved Pokemon, the Hoenn regionis missing the most fromPokemon GO, with there being fifteen total. That is more than the amount that are actually implemented from all regions in the game. The complete list of these non-legendary Mega Evolutions that are still missing are:
Mega Sceptile- Dual Grass and Dragon-type
Mega Blaziken- Dual Fire and Fighting-type
Mega Swampert- Dual Water and Ground-type
Mega Gardevoir- Dual Psychic and Fairy-type
Mega Mawile- Dual Steel and Fairy-type
Mega Medicham- Dual Fighting and Psychic-type
Mega Sableye- Dual Dark and Ghost-type
Mega Sharpedo- Dual Water and Dark-type
Mega Camerupt- Dual Fire and Ground-type
Mega Salamence- Dual Dragon and Flying-type
Mega Metagross- Dual Steel and Psychic-type
Thanks toOmega RubyandAlpha Sapphire, the Hoenn region is home to the largest number of Pokemon that can Mega Evolve, even without counting thelegendary Pokemon. There are so many that its clear thatPokemon GOwill have a long time before running out of Mega Evolutions to add to the game over time.
The most predictable of these Pokemon to be associated with an event is likely Mega Sableye and Mega Banette. Due to both of them being creepyGhost-type Pokemon, they will likely have their Mega Evolutions premiere alongside the yearly Halloween event as special raids for the season.

Missing Non-Legendary Sinnoh Mega Evolutions
Compared to the sheer number of missingMega Evolutionsfrom the Hoenn region, the Sinnoh region only has three Pokemon that have yet to get their Mega Evolved forms inPokemon GO. These Pokemon are:
Mega Garchomp- Dual Dragon and Ground-type
Mega Lucario- Dual Fighting and Steel-type
Mega Gallade- Dual Psychic and Fighting-type
Among this group, Gallade’s alternate form will likely be released alongside Mega Gardevoir, due to them being part of the same evolutionary line. Lucario and Garchomp, however, will likely appear alongside something special. With therelease ofBrilliant DiamondandShining Pearlcoming in late 2021, it is very likely that there will be some sort of event inPokemon GOto celebrate this. A perfect addition to this event could be the implementation of either Mega Lucario or Mega Garchomp.
Missing Legendary Mega Evolutions and Audino
Both the Unova region and the Kalos region have one Pokemon each with the ability to Mega Evolve. While ironic, considering that theKalos regionis where Mega Evolution premiered, the Pokemon that can perform it isn’t even inPokemon GOyet either. From the Unova region, however, the only Pokemon that can Mega Evolve is:
Mega Audino- Dual Normal and Fairy-type
The sole Pokemon from Kalos that can Mega Evolve is Diancie. This Pokemon is a legendary and is not the only one with the ability to Mega Evolve. With none of thelegendary Pokemon inPokemon GOable to Mega Evolve yet, these are the ones who will likely be able to in the future thanks to their main game counterparts:
Mega Mewtwo X- Dual Psychic and Fighting-type
Mega Latias- Dual Dragon and Psychic-type
Mega Latios- Dual Dragon and Psychic-type
Primal Groudon- Dual Ground and Fire-type
Mega Rayquaza- Dual Dragon and Flying-type
Mega Diancie- Dual Rock and Fairy-type
