Players will also benefit from double XP for catching Pokemon throughout the event, making it a great opportunity forPokemon GOplayers to level up faster. Taking snapshots during the event may lead to surprise encounters with event-themed Pokemon, adding an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay. Wild encounters will feature Pokemon such as Psyduck, Slowpoke, Drowzee, Mareep, and Sandygast more frequently, alongside the costumed Slakoth and Oranguru.
Notably, this event marks the first appearance of shiny Komala inPokemon GO, which will be available in both the wild and through Field Research tasks. Event-themed Field Research tasks will offer encounters with various Pokemon including Komala, Drowzee, Mareep, Slakoth, Oranguru, Sandygast, and Psyduck. Completing these tasks increases the chances of encounteringshiny versions of these Pokemon. Additionally, special Timed Research will be available for trainers who connect aPokemon GOPlus + device. This device allows for automatic Poke Ball throws and PokeStop spins, making participation in the event more convenient. Rewards for completing this Timed Research include Stardust and encounters with Snorlax wearing a nightcap, Slakoth wearing a visor, and Komala.
An event-themed Collection Challenge will be available, offering rewards like Stardust, XP, and an encounter with Komala upon completion. Players should also be on the lookout for Showcases at differentPokemon GOPokeStops, where they can enter event-themed Pokemon to compete for prizes. Additionally, thePokemon GOWeb Store will feature special deals throughout the event. Trainers with Pokemon Trainer Club accounts can now log in using their game credentials and receive a 15% discount on their first purchase of any item priced at $9.99 or more.
