Pokemon ScarletandPokemon Violetare going to be Nintendo’s biggest releases for 2022’s holiday season. Yet surprisingly little has been announced regarding the upcomingPokemontitles. Details aboutPokemon Scarletand Violet’s starter Pokemon, their Legendary Pokemon, and their professors have been confirmed, but much remains to be revealed. One surprising unconfirmed detail is what bonus will be included withPokemon Scarlet andViolet’s pre-order, something that appears to have now been shared early.

Typically, Game Freak and Nintendo will make an announcement out of the pre-order bonus for eachPokemongame. That announcement has yet to come forPokemon ScarletandViolet, but it seems fans won’t have to wait for a Nintendo Direct. On the official Pokemon Center website, a banner forpre-orderingPokemon ScarletorViolethas cropped up at the top of the page. Included in this banner is the message, “Bonus Gift with Purchase: Digital Code for an In-Game Backpack*”.

On bothPokemon Scarlet andPokemon Violet’s product pages, it’s further confirmed that pre-orders will include the in-game accessory. Players will receive a backpack that can be worn in-game. However, the fine print states the backpack’s design isn’t currently available and will be revealed at a later date. The backpack is confirmed to be a cosmetic and won’t impact gameplay in any way, soPokemonfanswon’t have to worry if they miss out on the bonus.

Another question that doesn’t have an answer yet is if thispre-orderbonuswill be exclusive to the Pokemon Center shop or not. It’s possible that other retailers will have their own pre-order bonuses forPokemon Scarlet andViolet, whether it’s a different piece of equipment or a different style of backpack. The pre-order listing on Amazon, for example, doesn’t mention a pre-order bonus at this time.

There’s no clear indication when more information will be shared regardingPokemon Scarletand Violet’s pre-order bonuses. There is some speculation that aNintendo Directcould be held before the end of June, but there’s no guaranteePokemon Scarlet andVioletwould be featured even if a Nintendo Direct was held. Fans will simply have to be patient.

At the very least, it’s safe to assume that the tradition of cosmetic DLC being included as a pre-order bonus forPokemongames will continue withPokemon Scarlet and Violet. For example, the UK store ShopTo gave out orange tracksuits with apre-order ofPokemon SwordorShield. Stay tuned for more information onPokemon ScarletandVioletin the weeks and months to come.
