Jager isn’t the most complete operator inRainbow Six Extraction. He’s not the most stealthy and he doesn’t have the most offense. So why is it that players who have him unlocked and leveled up never want to use anyone else?

The answer is relatively simple. The hardest missions inRainbow Six Extractioninvolve bosses, elites, and holdout points because it’s impossible to hide from the enemies in these situations. When stealth isn’t an option, Jager’s mines, with the right loadout, have the opportunity to make these tough moments look easy.
Primary Weapon - M870
It’s alright to put Jager to the side andlevel up other operators first. He has access to his ideal weapon right away. The M870 has loads of stopping power which is important for scenarios in which mobs of aliens start overwhelming the squad.

Many go for one of the other automatic options here because they can be silenced, but that’s a mistake for two reasons. The secondary weapon is much better in stealth situations and the shotgun just flat-out deals with mobs of opponents better.
Secondary Weapon - P12
It’s hard to consider a handgun one ofthe best weapons in the game, but Jager’s P12 deserves at least some consideration. It’s a good thing the gun is so strong because it’s the only option Jager gets for this slot. Thankfully, they make up for the lack of diversity by making this gun a beast.
Throw a silencer on there for stealth. Even with the reduced damage, the P12 can one-hit kill an enemy from across the map with a hit to a weak spot. This should be the main weapon used unless there is a swarm of alerted enemies.
Explosive Tech - Paralysis Grenade
Yes, it feels like everyone is picking the Paralysis Grenade, but Jager has a very special reason for following the crowd on this one. Every operator can take advance of a stun that detonates immediately, but Jager adds another layer to this strategy.

After Jager has placed his turret mines, elites and bosses will come charging in. Stun them and, for a full five seconds per grenade, they’ll be taking shots from every mine. It keeps Jager from absorbing blows, keeping him on his feet so he doesn’t have toheal significant damage between operations.
Gear - Revive Kit
Since Jager can handle the hardest objectives in the game single-handedly, there remains a valid question: “What about everything else?” Jager does have to carry his weight between these objectives. Since he’s not in charge of recon, tanking, or healing, that means sometimes things go south.
When that does happen, having a Revive Kit makes a big difference. Players knocked down won’t immediately go unconscious and they’ll get to kill a few enemies before pulling themselves back up. Plus, the squad has the peace of mind that they don’t have to rescue Jager, he’ll pull himself up just fine.
