Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apartserves as a continuation of 2013’sRatchet and Clank: Into the Nexus, which was released for the PS3. The story will revolve around Ratchet and Clank traveling through multiple realities in an attempt to stop Dr. Nefarious from destroying dimensions with a malfunctioning device meant to eliminate organic life. Existing gameplay shorts have shown thatRatchet and Clank: Rift Aparttakes full advantage of the PS5’s power, as the game was built from the start with the PS5 in mind. Today’s announcement confirms fans won’t have long to wait for the game, but it also provides a few incentives to pre-order the PS5 exclusive.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apartis available to pre-order now, with different editions to choose from. For digital versions of the game, fans will have the option to choose the Standard or Deluxe editions. Pre-order bonuses for the Standard and Deluxe editions include the Carbonox armor fromRatchet and Clank: Going Commandoand the Pixelizer weapon from 2016’sRatchet and Clank, with both items graphically updated with high-definition materials and ray-traced reflections.
For those that want a physical copy of the game, there will be a Launch Edition forRatchet and Clank: Rift Apartthat will include the Carbonox armor and Pixelizer weapon as a voucher inside the game case. The Standard Edition physical copy of the game can also be pre-ordered digitally on thePlayStation Storeto receive the same incentives. There is also an extra bonus for customers who pre-order, offering a $5.00 discount off of merchandise in the PlayStation Gear online store after the launch date ofRatchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
The pre-order goodies will likely excite fans, but the biggest information from Marcus Smith’s announcement is thatRatchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s release dateis set for June 02, 2025. There has been much speculation about when the game will release this year and now those excited for the game have a date to look forward to.
