Summary
Red Dead Redemption 2is one of the most technically impressive games on the PS4 and Xbox One. Players expect nothing less from Rockstar Games than pushing the boundaries of what a console can do. The current generation has been around for several years, so it only feels right for the company to release an updated version ofRed Dead Redemption 2.
They did it withGrand Theft Auto 5, so why not do the same to their 2018 Western epic? Should the day come whenRed Dead Redemption 2is updated for modern consoles, fans hope they add the features detailed in the entries below.

1Higher Frame Rates
Make It Smoother
When the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X hit shelves, it was fantastic to see so many games from the prior generation almost immediately receive patches that let themrun at 60 frames per second. It not only makes the game look better and smoother, but it also feels better to play.
The adverse effect it had on games without a patch is that 30 frames per second all of a sudden looks janky and jittery. It would be fantastic to playRed Dead 2with a smoother frame rate. The beautiful visuals certainly deserve to look as good as possible.

2More Missions In New Austin
Give Players A Reason To Go There
The map ofRed Dead 2includes much of the landmass from2010’sRed Dead Redemption.Players are unable to access Mexico, however. It would be a lot for the developers to add Mexico back into the map, but it really wouldn’t be too much to ask for some more content inside New Austin.
There are a few things to do there for players who explore, but for the most part, the area is barren. As it is now, there is almost no reason to even visit that part of the map.

Grand Theft Auto 5had additional missions in its enhanced version, so it is not unprecedented for the studio to add missions.
More Multiplayer Content
Red Dead Onlinewas not out long beforeRockstar announced that they would cease supporting it. The servers are still online and everything that was added is still available, but it is not being fed new content likeGrand Theft Auto Online.
If the day comes when a next-gen patch hits the game, the developers should throwRed Dead Onlinefans a bone and give them more content to enjoy. It would only be right to thank fans for sticking with the game for so long even as no new content is added to the experience.

4Improved Loading Times
Get Players Into The World Faster
It is difficult to complain about load times in a game that is so large. However, in the modern gaming landscape, especially with the SSDs, players have become used to big maps loading up in just a few seconds.
TakeFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, for example. That game cues up its large world quickly, with just enough time to read some of the tips before the game is ready.Red Dead Redemption 2’sload times are incredibly long by comparison, and could certainly stand to be cut down a bit.

5Crossplay
Connect The Community
IfRed Dead Onlineis not receiving new content, then one can expect the community to slowly dwindle until just a few superfans remain. One easy way to make the community more lively and make sure it lives a little longer would be toadd crossplay support.
At the very least they should add crossplay support between PlayStation and Xbox, so there won’t be any of the problems that come with adding PC players, like the advantage of mouse aiming or aimbots.

GTA Onlinesimilarly does not have cross-play, but that game is in no danger of losing its community anytime soon.
6Improved Movement
Make Running Feel Better
Rockstar games always feel heavy to move around in on foot. The major exception to this would beMax Payne 3, but that’s an entirely different type of game.Red Dead 2is a slow, heavy game that wants players to soak in the world and live in it.
Still, it would be nice to move around a little faster. It is most notable in close areas where it is easy to get turned around and it takes time to turn reposition if the player is facing a wall. It can be a death sentence in a gunfight.

7Rockstar Editor
Let Fans Edit Their Own Videos
Red Dead Redemption 2is not the same type of sandbox asGrand Theft Auto, but it still has its moments of hilarity. Why not let players capture these moments or make some drama of their own with the Rockstar Editor likeGrand Theft Auto 5?
Maybe Rockstar figures that independent editing software is enough for those who like making their own videos, but the Rockstar Editor lets players do a lot more than simply capturing footage could ever do. The ability to manipulate the camera angle of a gameplay recording alone makes the Rockstar Editor an invaluable tool.
