Red Dead Onlinehad a hot start, but fans' interest has been waning recently. The concept of exploringRed Dead Redemption 2’s exemplary and lush world with co-op play works on paper, but its execution has been lacking.

Beginning withRed Dead Redemption’s PS3 Online Mode (which is still active today),Red Dead Onlineserves as the social addition to the critically acclaimed series boasting the same high quality graphical output and mechanics that helped it gain so many accolades since release. But a cursory look over fan responses across social media reveals a wide array of dissatisfied players urging Rockstar to listen to demands the community are making.

The official Rockstar Twitter account announced a new weekly update for Blood Money opportunities and the large completion bonuses present. This comes at a time when fans are desperate for more updates to improve the online game, while Rockstar appears to be more focused ondevelopingGrand Theft Auto Onlinecontent instead. As a result of this, many have taken to starting hashtags such as #SaveRedDeadOnline to try and voice their dislike forRed Dead Onlineupdates.

Blood Money missions were the last DLC additiontoRed Dead Online, back in July 2021. The DLC mode offered more high risk/high reward crime missions, but any promotional offer is little comfort to devoted fans considering Rockstar had been advertising the new Double Down co-op mode forGTA Onlinejust a few days prior. This isn’t a new problem either, as the rate of new content forGTA Onlinehas been consistent and expansive for nearly a full decade now, whereasRed Dead Redemption 2was released in 2018, yet still hasn’t gotten many substantial online updates.

Multiple tweets consist of memes taking jabs at Rockstar Games, which seems more interested in discussing payment issues than responding to 6-month-old suggestions. There is aGold Bar virtual currency systeminRed Dead Onlineera, but even the promise of microtransaction funding from doesn’t appear to be enough for Rockstar to put more effort into itsRed Dead Onlineupdates. With no official word from Rockstar, fans are left waiting in disappointment for something that may not even arrive.

For the time being, fans appear to be stuck withRed Dead Online’s underwhelming updates that offer little change to gameplay or fresh content. However, the traction of online activity has been growing continuously in an effort to make Rockstar listen. Only time will tell if Rockstar decides to take conclusive action against the mounting complaints.
