Only the mostrecent installment in the series,Midnight Club: Los Angeles, is getting confirmed PS5 backward compatibility, and many people may want to be able to race in different locations on next-gen consoles. One of the draws of theMidnight Clubseries is that players can race in a variety of places like New York City or London, andMidnight Club 3features San Diego, Atlanta, and Detroit. However,Midnight Club 2and even the original 2000 game may also intrigue people, especially as a comparison to newer racing games to see how much the genre has changed.

The originalManhuntis on the list of backward compatible games, so why not its sequel? TheManhuntseries' psychological and survival horror elements forced the player to brutally execute targets in stealthy ways, while also having to deal with backstabbing “allies.” Not only that, but some players are calling for anofficial remaster of theManhuntgames, which has seen unofficial modding remasters over the years. This is another nostalgia entry, and one that just goes to show how far the graphics have improved in later games. Not many AAA games provide a third person shooter with a neo noir flavor, and the hype surroundingCyberpunk 2077and its futuristic take on the neo-noir genre shows that it’s something people enjoy playing. Somefans are still hopeful for aMax Payne4, which is proof that there are still plenty of people who would enjoy playing the entire trilogy on the PS5 and possibly also the Xbox Series X/S.
