In the top left corner of the screen will be a moon that will constantly be changing between various phases inShin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance. The phase of the moon affects the respawn rate of everything in the world, and the change from phase to phase is determined by the player.
Instead of being on a timer, the changing moon is determined by the number of steps the player takes, with a constant sprint leading to quick changes in the moon. The phase of the moon also has a major impact on demon’s moods, making it important to understand the moon’s phases and how theyaffect demons and the world.

How Many Moon Phases Are There In Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance
In total, there are sixteen moon phases, eight as it fills to be a full moon, and eight as it empties to a new moon. Despite there being so many phases, the onlymajor ones players will need to worry about are Full and New Moon, as each triggers the respawn of various things throughout the world. Demons act differently only during a Full or New Moon, meaning players will only have a limited number of steps during that phase to get the most out of it when trying to recruit new demons.
Effects Of New & Full Moons In Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance
During a Full or New Moon, demon negotiations won’t happen, as demons will either be happy or mad at the moon. When players try to talk to a demon, they will eitheroutright attack the player and skip the player’s turn, or skip the negotiation and go straight to the bargainingof items phase. Demon negotiation can be complex, and trying it during one of these moon phases at least makes the process go by faster.
During a Full Moon, the chances of aFusion Accident increase, with the result being a different demon that sometimes may bestronger than the Nahobino. Beyond just demons, Full and New Moons will alsoaffect the respawn rates of various things throughout the world. Players will need to be far away from something for it to respawn, with it being outside the player’s minimap range.
