ASkyrimmodder has introduced a new type of journal so that those who like to treasure hunt across the game’s slice of Tamriel can keep track of their adventures. At this stage, it’s fair to say thatTES5has gotten more than its fair share of time in the limelight, but new mods are coming out all the time, extending the game’s shelf life. AlthoughThe Elder Scrolls 6is currently in development, it’s likely the next entry in the epic RPG series is still a long way from release.
Given this, fans are doing what they can to get the most out of Bethesda’s 2011 game. ManySkyrimplayers continue to produce wonderful works of artbased on the title, while there is a dedicated modding community that’s always finding new ways to improve on the original formula. It’s this latter part that’s helping to keep the game popular, especially given thatTES5is now 11 years old and it’s difficult for any game to stay on top of the industry after so long without the help of custom content.

This particular mod is for thoseSkyrimplayers who like to keep themselves busy with treasure hunts. Modder DrMabusetheRambler on Nexus Mods has unleashed “Dynamic Treasure Map Journal,” which, as the name implies, adds a journal that will keep track of any maps the player comes across and whether any treasure has been found. According to the description, the diary can be found near the first guardian stone as the player leaves Helgen at the start of the game, basically close to where the first treasure map is. However, even before finding the journal in-game, the mod will still track any maps that have been found, so players don’t need to worry about grabbing it immediately.
Treasure hunting inSkyrimis just one of the many ways the Dragonborn can keep themselves amused in this chilly province. Maps are scattered throughout the land, giving the player something a little different to do when not fighting dragons or getting mixed up in a civil war.
Again, this is why the game is still going strong after all these years. There areso manySkyrimmodsout there that do more than just make the game look prettier. It’s hard to say how long Bethesda will keep milking one of its most lucrative assets, but if the modding community keeps pumping out custom content, as it has been doing, fans will continue to replay the game for many more years to come.
