If there is one RPG that will go down in the annals of gaming history, one that will be talked about for many more years to come, it will likely beThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Despite releasing in 2011, and fans losing patience about the release of the next installment, Bethesda’s open world epic wasone of the top-selling video games of May this year. Aside from the fact that the developer continues to release new versions of it as the years go by, much of its longevity can be attested to how much there is to do and see in the game, whether it’s exploring the land, finishing quests, or fighting bosses.
Speaking of bosses, a Reddit user who goes by MuhBoi117 recently uploaded a brief clip of them playingSkyrim, which shows them taking on the mighty frost giant Karstaag. During the fight, it becomes quite clear that the player is highly skilled, and within moments, the boss is slain, much to the surprise of the user themselves. In fact, the clip itself only lasts about 30 seconds, but the fight itself is over in about six.

Given thatKarstaag is one of the hardest bosses inSkyrim, it’s a pretty impressive display of swordsmanship. Many commenting in the Reddit thread have said how much they got “absolutely destroyed” by the ghostly giant the first time they encountered them. In fact, the clip itself seems to suggest that MuhBoi117 was not prepared to be able to defeat the creature with relative ease. The brief video ends with them looking around the cave, perhaps in a moment of confusion, before doing a series of victory crouches over the ashes of the fallen enemy.
For those who are perhaps not aware, it’s not possible to come across this boss in the vanilla version of the game as Karstaag can only be found inSkyrim’s “Dragonborn” DLC. This expansion was released in 2012, and offers up a new narrative and quest, with events taking place on the island of Solstheim, which players ofThe Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowindmay be familiar with.
While it’s not thebiggestElder Scrollsgame in terms of map size,Skyrimis easily the most successful entry in the entire franchise. With fans still showcasing their experiences, it really hammers home just how popular this decade-old title still is after all these years.
The Elder Scrolls: Skyrimis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
