With the premiere of the newSonic Primeanimated show on Netflix imminent, theSonic Forces: Speed Battlemobile game will feature playable characters based on this show. TheSonic Forcesmobile game was created by Sega Hardlight, a part of the company’s European branch, as a tie-in to 2017’sSonic Forces. While the console game would receive middle-of-the-road reviews, this mobile game would continue being supported in the years to follow, adding a number of playable characters.Sonic Forces: Speed Battlewould not only see characters from the main game canon being added, but also characters from alternate canons based on the franchise. This includes the movie version of Sonic the Hedgehog, to two fan-favoritecharacters from theSonicIDW Comics, Tangle and Whisper, being added to the game. WithSonic Prime’s premiere later this month,Sonic Forces: Speed Battlewill be adding two characters from this show to the game.RELATED:Sonic Frontiers Getting Christmas Themed Update This MonthIn a new tweet from Sega Hardlight’s Twitter account, it announces that these two characters are fromSonic Prime’s first episode, specifically the versions of Tails and Amy from the Shatterverse where Eggman has taken over the world with his Chaos Council. These versions are known as Nine Tails, since this multiverse version of Tails possesses nine mechanical tails. The other character being added is Rusty Rose, a cybernetic version of Amy from this version of the Shatterverse.

This event forSonic Forces: Speed Battlewill be running from December 15 to December 24, where players can unlock Nine Tails as a runner. Then on December 28 till January 10, players can unlock Rusty Rose. This isn’t the only game that is celebrating the premiere, as the first episode of the show is currently available for an early preview on Roblox via theSonic Speed Simulatorexperience. Players can watch the first episode for free, which is set to play every 45 minutes in-game. This will continue replaying until the show’s official premiere on Netflix.

2022 and 2023 are looking to be bright years for theSonicfranchise, not only with the premiere of this animated show, but the release ofSonic Frontiershas been received positively by fans. With the announcement ofSonic Frontiersgetting multiple DLC updates throughout 2023, some are expecting Frontiers to also celebrate the premiere of this new show with someSonic Prime-themed DLC as well.Sonic Forces: Speed Battlemay also see more characters from the expanding Shatterverse to be added in the future as well.
