Spider-Man: No Way Homeis finally here and its ready to become one of the biggest films at the box office in recent years. Following its overseas release, which began this past Wednesday, the Marvel Studios and Sony film racked up roughly $44 million on its first day.
Spider-Man: No Way Homelaunched in 15 markets overseas on Wednesday, earning $43.6M and looking to surpass box office projections as its theatrical run continues. Other than setting a pandemic era record in Korea, the film also had its best Wednesday opening day ever in the UK, toppingNo Time to Die’s $6.6 million to earn $10.1 million.

Deadline reports thatSpider-Man: No Way Homealso had Mexico’s biggest ever opening day, earning $9 million that puts it aboveAvengers: Endgame. It’s really no surprise that the film would do well, considering its secretive production that has led to countless rumors and speculation as well as a high number of ticket pre-sales. Nonetheless, it is still great to see a film of this size draw in large crowds following a year of shutdowns, delays, and uncertainties.
Now officially released in the U.S. following Thursday’s domestic previews,Spider-Man: No Way Homeis out and ready for fans to experience on the biggest screen possible. What may just be the MCU’s most hyped film to date, as it sees the return of many familiar faces from previousSpider-Manfilms like Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock andWillem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, the film picks up whereSpider-Man:Far From Homeleft off, as Peter Parker seeks Doctor Strange’s help in restoring his secret identity after the world finds out who Spider-Man really is. Through the use of this magic, Parker must then deal with multiversal consequences.
The film has already received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics, as it currently has a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. While Tom Holland has stated this film will be the conclusion of a trilogy, Sony producer Amy Pascal recently spoke out about the involvement ofHolland in futureSpider-Manfilms, claiming that she and many others are already developing new stories for the character to be featured in.
