Star Wars Battlefront 2has been supplying fresh player content for a couple of years now, and finally seems to be on an even keel after a turbulent start. After churning out plenty of content from the newer films, DICE has decided to revisit the original trilogy at long last, as the next scheduled update will bring the Age of Rebellion toStar Wars Battlefront 2.
February is the beginning of DICE’s focus on the Age of Rebellion, and it’s been highly requested byBattlefront 2players for a long time; as such, DICE promised that this next update was going to be a big one. And withnew original trilogy maps, ships, weapons, reinforcements and more, it looks like DICE’s promise for the Age of Rebellion update is being fulfilled.

Battlefront 2’s big update will bring new reinforcements to both the Rebellion and the Empire: thefan-favorite Ewok Hunteris officially joining the Rebellion, and to balance them out, the ISB Agent is being added to the Empire’s reinforcement roster. The ISB Agent actually is notable, as she’s the first of the Empire’s reinforcements to be a dual-wielder and particularly skilled in gathering intelligence and close combat, with abilities that help her get in and out of combat zones smoothly.
The Ewok Hunter, meanwhile, will carry a hunter’s bow and spear, and the ewok won’t show up on enemy scanners while he uses his bow. To cap off the ewok’s arsenal, he’ll have a Valiant Horn that increases resistance and damage, and a pouch of Wisties to throw at unsuspecting enemies.
Beyond that, the Age of Rebellion is bringing 7 new locations from the original trilogyto co-op mode, including Jabba’s Palace, Kessel Run, Endor, and Death Star II. DICE will also be adding capital ships to the list of co-op maps: the Venator, Dreadnaught, MC85 Star Cruiser, and the First Order Resurgent-class Star Destroyer.
ExistingBattlefront 2charactersare getting an update too, especially Leia, who will get ability improvements, card tweaks, and blaster modifications, while each class will also get a new blaster that is compatible across the different eras. There are also many quality-of-life additions, UI tweaks, and smaller changes that players can check out in the Age of Rebellion’s full patch notes.
Presumably, DICE won’t be finished with the Age of Rebellion with just one update, and hopefully, players will get their wish of returning to the original trilogy for the foreseeable future. Aftersuch a controversial start, updates like this one prove thatBattlefront 2has made an admirable comeback in the time since.
Star Wars Battlefront 2is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and the Age of Rebellion update goes live on February 26 for all platforms.
