Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Editioncomes with the base game, which includes all the launch maps and multiplayer characters, as well as the single player story campaign. It also includes a variety of cosmetic content, including new skins for playable heroes, including looks for Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren based on theirappearances fromStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Hundreds of customization items for troopers are also available.

Star Wars Battlefront 2is an interesting game in that it was widely panned when it first launched due to its aggressive microtransactions. The game’s use of microtransactions were considered so predatory that they garnered attention from politicians, and put a big spotlight on the use of loot boxes in general. This has led toreal-world legislation on loot boxes in video games, and leftStar Wars Battlefront 2with a poor reputation.

However, DICE updatedStar Wars Battlefront 2to change its in-game economy, moving the focus away from excessive grinding and loot boxes. DICE also supported the game with regular content updates that added new maps, playable characters, and more to the experience. Like other games that were poorly-received at launch, DICE was able to turnStar Wars Battlefront 2’s misfortunes around, to the point wherepeople made petitions asking DICE to keep working on the gameafter support had ended.

While DICE has moved on fromStar Wars Battlefront 2, it’s possible that it will revisit the series at some point in the future. For now, though, fans of DICE’s work can look forward to thenextBattlefieldgame, expected to launch at some point later this year.
