There’s a wide variety of raw materials for players to find inStarfield, but some upgrades and building projects require resources that have already been manufactured into more useful products. High-Tensile Spidroin is just one of such manufactured items, and players will need to stock up on these to craft the things they want.

As with the rest of the crafting materials inStarfield, finding large quantities of High-Tensile Spidroin all boils down to looking at the right places. However, there are some things about this material that players should know before they start scouring the galaxy for it.
Where to Find High-Tensile Spidroin in Starfield
Instead of gettingmined from the surface of a planet, High-Tensile Spidroin is more often found lying on top of random surfaces in human-made structures like outposts, research stations, and so on. Players can sometimes find them blending in with random clutter or stored inside containers. When entering a building, check the desks, shelves, and tables to hopefully find one of these items.
Randomly generated clutter is hardly the most reliable source of High-Tensile Spidroin. Players who want a more convenient source should instead pay general goods stores a visit. These vendors have large assortments of stuff in their inventories, and they’re often loaded with a huge selection ofraw and fabricated resources. Stores like Jemison Mercantile in New Atlantis and the UC Exchange Shop tend to have High-Tensile Spidroin in stock.

It’s worth noting that a trader’s inventories appear to scale according to the player’s current level. Rarer materials (including High-Tensile Spidroin) start to appear in stores more frequently after players reach a certain level. If such materials aren’t showing up in stores, then it might be a good idea to come back later.
Speaking of coming back later, players can technically reset a merchant’s inventory by sleeping or waiting for 24 hours. Find a nearby bed or bench, press the relevant button that appears on the screen then set the slider to 24 local hours. Check the merchant’s inventory again to see that everything has been refreshed. This won’t guarantee that High-Tensile Spidroin will appear, but it’s better than nothing.

High-Tensile Spidroins are used to upgrade spacesuits and helmets — specifically, they are used to make the Heavy Shielding mod that increases the damage resistance of protective gear. This mod is an excellent supplement tolight and medium-weight suitsthat don’t have as much combat protection as their heavier military counterparts.
